Isy isy..walaupun menyeluruh...psiko jugak ye tengok perkara 'C' tu... Astronaut to study human bone loss in spaceBy KENNETH LEE
SHAH ALAM: Studying the mechanism of bone loss and blood pressure around human hearts in a micro-gravity environment are among the experiments lined up for the country's first angkasawan (astronaut) during his mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
揚erforming these experiments in space is a great opportunity to extend our horizons in medical science because space has conditions that earth doesn抰 have, harap2 si askar tu yg terpilih,....

SEPANG: He could soon be the first Malaysian to go into Space but this did not distract Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor from performing a surgery on his mother.
The orthopaedic surgeon attached with Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia operated on his mother Zuraida Sheikh Ahmad who had a ligament tear.
揑 have done what needed to be done but she still has to go through follow-ups and physiotherapy. For that, I would have to depend on my other siblings, Menu Malaysia lulus ke angkasa lepas

Kapt Dr Faiz, a dental surgeon, said he spent as much time as possible with his family. He said he could now communicate with them very openly and felt good about that.
揊or many years, I have always kept things to myself and hardly spoke to my parents about my inner feelings.
揙ne of the wonderful transformations that has occurred to me through the participation of this programme is that I am now able to open up and really communicate with them, Originally posted by isskandar at 1-7-2007 01:16 AM http://forum.cari.com.my/images/common/back.gif

As Malaysians prepare to celebrate 50 years of Merdeka, one among us will be called upon to perform the 慼ighest Unity抯 the key
Dr Faiz, who turns 27 next month, has the same fervent attitude.
Having studied medicine and specialising in dentistry, Dr Faiz opted to join the military because he wanted to experience what his grandfather had as a soldier.
But a soldier抯 lot then was much harder than it is now and he knows his grandfather endured a lot more hardship: 揃y the time I was born, things were already very good, very easy. I just wish I could feel what he felt to fight for the country, The Angkasawan programme
OUR angkasawan faces a very regimented schedule in space when carrying out major experiments, as only 108 minutes per day can be allocated for conducting them.
Endorsed by Russia and the United States, Malaysia抯 angkasawan will study the mechanism of bone loss and blood pressure around human hearts in a microgravity environment, and conduct research on cancer.
This would extend our horizons in medical science, as, under normal circumstances, it would take up to 50 years to observe bone loss in humans. A trip to space would enable us to obtain much more information as humans experience 10 times more bone loss in space.

One Malaysian angkasawan will be carried aloft into
space by a rocket similar to this monster
Hence, it is an important mission for the angkasawan, as he will be carrying out the research for several institutions of higher learning. This task is of great significance for the country for it will contribute to the field of modern medicine, science and technology.
Director-General of the National Space Agency (Angkasa) Prof Datuk Dr Mazlan Othman has said that the programme will not only boost our medical and science industry, it is also aimed at inculcating a sense of excellence in our youth.
The Angkasawan programme was borne out of an offset agreement between the Malaysian and Russian Governments through the purchase of 18 Sukhoi Su-30 MKM fighter jets for the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
Russia agreed to offer one seat for a Malaysian to join their crew in an expedition to the International Space Station (ISS), and bear the training cost of our first batch of angkasawan.
When the programme was announced in October 2003, 11,275 applications were received. After several tough rounds of intensive testing, these two men made the final cut.
Kapt Dr Faiz Khaleed and Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al Masrie are now cosmonaut candidates currently training at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Star City Moscow, Russia.
Their extensive training covers the Soyuz TMA and ISS space craft systems, flight operations, weightlessness in a zero gravity jet and how to live and safely function aboard the ISS.
The Malaysian angkasawan will be part of the Expedition 16 crew, led by astronaut Commander Peggy Whitson and cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko aboard a Soyuz spacecraft.
