Cassandra not only the fairest but she also croons her way into judges’ hearts

Cassandra Daniel Manja, 23, was crowned Miss Sarawak Model of theWorld 2009 on Sunday night and will be representing the state at thenational level contest in Ipoh, Perak next month.
After she won three subsidiary titles and entertained audienceduring the break by singing Rihanna’s ‘Take a Bow’ that night, mostmembers in the audience were not surprised when she emerged top.
Almost nobody doubted that this young lady from Krokong Bau was astand out from among the 12 finalists at the event held at the 9thFloor hall of the Crown Towers in Pending here on Sunday night.
Part-time singer Cassandra took the crown and brought home cash prize and sponsored products altogether worth RM9,000.
The subsidiary titles she won are Best Commercial Model, Miss I-BellBridal House and Miss CSL. These are just three out of 12 subsidiarytitles up for grabs on Sunday night.
Cassandra said after her win Sunday night she is confident that shecan go far - even beyond a singing career - in her future endeavours.
She may be on the way to become a model, but she has the goodexperience in other beauty contests and television reality musical showLG MyStarz to thank for.
The eldest of four siblings is now a trainee with a government department here.
“My title will be the key to the door of opportunities. I hope I will be successful,” she said confidently.
Cassandra is 170cm tall with a vital statistics of 34-24-36.
The 12 finalists had to go through four rounds namely Bikini, CasualWear, Bridal Wear and Evening Wear categories before being selectedinto the last eight.
To win Miss Talent CSL 2009, Cassandra rendered the song popularised by Rihanna.
The event also highlighted Shuffle dance performance by H2O Crew andFarewell Parade by Miss Sarawak Model of the World 2008 Charlene Chaiprior to the announcement of the winner.
The event sponsors also received their appreciation certificatesfrom the organising committee led by chairman Lim Ing King and advisorMelson Chai Mui Sin. Charlene, being last year’s winner, was given thehonour to deliver a speech as well as crown the new winner, Cassandra.
The first and second runners-up on Sunday night were accountingstudent Amy Goh, 19, from here and part-time student Criselda Ung, 18,from Sibu.
The other nine finalists were Jolin Ling, 20; Crystal Chai, 23; JaneBong, 23; Ashly Leong, 21; Elaine Chen, 21; Tammy Chung, 23; ShirleyTan, 17; Audrey Heng, 19; and Weina Lim, 24.
Ashley Leong won the subsidiary titles of Miss Crown Square and MissAir Mata Kuching Industries while Audrey Heng (Miss Beautiful Eye SightOptic and Miss Popularity).
Amy Goh was the Miss Charity Kim Bay HK-Macau Restaurant as well asMiss JF Beauty while Criselda Ung (Miss L’Oreal Paris), Tammy Chung(Miss Elegant) and Elaine Chen (Miss Friendship). nampak alu muka urg swk.. heheh. contestant lain suma cina kah? cantek!!! {:3_85:} Kacak mukanya. mpuan tengah ya la ratu... bengong na juak... I don't mean to be racist, tapi seboleh2nya mun nak ngambik pageant non-Muslim pun, sik semestinya mesti ambik org Cina & Tambi jak. Banyak gik sidak non-Muslim dari Sabah & Sarawak, org Siam & Serani boleh jadi pageant bah. No offense to Chinese, tapi nampak gilak calon2 pageant Miss World/Universe Malaysia dimonopoli oleh Chinese. Sik nampak wajah keMalaysiaan bah.. I mean, Chinese pun wajah Malaysia juak, tapi mun boleh ada mix rupa2 eksotik dari bangsa2 lain bah. :) Aok..benar kata kitak ya...mun cina & india banyak negara ada sidak tok...ambiklah sidak local tribe biar nampak natural beauty.Lagi2 mun sidak ada kacukan. Coba nangga Miss Malaysia World/Universe tahun 70-an, 80-an.. eksotik2 jak muka org Malaysia waktu ya. :D :D hujh. mintak maap lah

Nang exotic beauty. :P Bagi kamek sweet & cute. Dak Org Ulu rami yg kacak2. Tapi kali sidak sik interested nak join beauty pageants. Mun dak Bidayuh & Iban di belah jauh2 nun rami kacak2. Yalah semua diam jauh2 ne ada gago nak masuk beauty pageants. Understandable. :P
Mcm bini pakcik kamek nang pure Melanau ttp muka very sweet. Dah tinggi lampai, body slim. Mcm model. Bukan mixed blood ya.
