Now, Kedah school principal accused of racism

KUALALUMPUR, Aug 20 — A Kedah school head was accused of racism today justas Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin ordered investigationsinto a Johor school principal who allegedly spewed racist slurs at herChinese and Indian students last week.
Kedah Gerakan chief Dr Cheah Soon Hai highlighted today a SungaiPetani secondary school head who allegedly told her Chinese pupils to“return to China”,  urging the Najib administration to take disciplinaryaction.
The Sekolah Menegah Kebangsaan Bukit Selambau headmistress was saidto have accused the Chinese pupils of being insensitive towards theirMuslim peers by eating in the school compound during the fasting monthof Ramadan last Friday, and ordered them to return to China if theycould not respect the culture of other races.
“Making statements such as passengers (penumpang) of the country are totally unwarranted,” Cheah said in a statement.
“Schools are places for learning and such degradable and disparagingwords from a school principal should not be condoned at all,” he added.
Cheah joined the growing chorus of students, parents and politiciansfrom both sides of the divide who are pushing Putrajaya to act quicklyand firmly against such school heads to show the government does nottolerate racism.
The Kedah case is the second reported incident this year involving school heads.
Earlier this week, the principal of SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra inJohor was instructed to take leave by the state Education Departmentfollowing some 20 police reports lodged by students accusing her ofmaking derogatory remarks against Chinese and Indian students.
The students claimed Siti Inshah Mansor had called them "passengers"and likened the Hindu students wearing prayer threads to dogs.
In his first remarks about the case, Muhyiddin said he has directedEducation director-general Tan Sri Alimuddin Mohd Dom to set up acommittee to investigate the matter. Alimuddin had earlier said it wasa misunderstanding that had been resolved.
“We want to get the real facts. As of now the reaction is veryemotional but we must be fair and have the correct information beforewe can decide on what steps to be taken. This is because there havebeen many conflicting statements,” the deputy prime minister told apress conference.
He added that disciplinary action against the principal will decided when the complete report is ready.The police are currently investigating the Johor case under section504 of the Penal Code for provocation which carries a maximumimprisonment of two years, a fine or bot |

aku rasa orang melayu seluruh negara tanpa mengira parti sudah mula tertekan....dengan banyak 'demand' yang melampau akhir2 ini oleh puak sebelah 'sana'...inilah puncanya masalah yg kononnya dipanngil sebagai 'rasis' ini... |

sememangnya memang ada cikgu2 melayu yg agak rasis , masa saya sekolah rendah dulu, ada cikgu yg bersikap rasis dgn pelajar india/cina, (cara cakap yg menyindir) , kesihan budak tu dia terpinga-pinga tak faham, budak2 melayu yg faham maksud cikgu tu ketawa...mungkin budak tu balik rumah dan tanya pada orang yg lebih faham, dan dari situ dia akan rasa seperti dimainkan , benih2 rasis dah disemai sejak sekolah lagi... salah siapa? tapi tak semua cikgu mcm ni, cikgu2 muda skrg lebih terbuka dan sensitif. |

emmm...ada dua ekor anjing.....dua2 ekor anjing ni dah mula pandai melawan dan menyalak tuannya (yang bersusah payah mengimport kedua2 ekor anjing ini dari luar negara satu masa dahulu) akhir2 ni....tapi biasalah tu...maybe time musim mengawan..atau maybe nak 'makanan' lebih....hari-hari bagi tulang pun boleh jemu beb.. ....tapi apa nak dikisahkan sangat dengan salakan anjing....lagipun ia cuma 2 ekor anjing....dan 2 ekor anjing itu adalah anjing setia yang jinak... |

tak pernah plak org new zealand cakap yg aku ni penumpang. malah aku pernah jumpa org mesia kat cni yg dah PR pi apply benefit pasal duit xcukup. dapat aje duit pon. takde plak org work and income tu cakap ko ni penumpang ajer. ko tak layak makan duit gomen nz |

ingat takde ke guru besar sekolah cina..... terang2 cakap taknak beri students melayu masuk sekolah cina..... menyusahkan bila nak ajar derang bahasa cina dan menysahkan bila derang tau bahasa cina...... pernah jadik kat one of my friends..... kesian anak dia..... |
