'Handsome' Japanese reporter overshadows Thai politics
A Japanese reporter described as "handsome" and "mouth-watering" is taking social networks by storm, overshadowing anti-government protests and the Feb 2 general election.
*heols yg pakai vest Press tu tau bukan yg pegang kamera
His name is Daijiro Enami, a 28-year-old reporter who works for the Fuji Television Network. Countless photos of Mr Enami have been shared on the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages of Thai netizens, after fellow journalists and anti-government protesters posted pictures of him doing his job or smiling with ladies. He has interviewed anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban, and covered Sunday's general election in Bung Kum district, where caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra cast her vote.
The Japanese reporter, who inadvertently moved into the limelight overnight, has cooled off political heat in Thailand, according to a Talky Story report.
A Thai Facebook user by the name Tang Thaneesa wrote that she had blushed while staring at the reporter's photos, prompting her boyfriend to ask her abruptly who the man was.
On Thai webboard Pantip.com, users wrote that the reporter was "supremely gorgeous" and said they wished someone like him could be their husband or bodyguard.
"Take off your bullet proof vest, I'll use my body to protect you," wrote a Pantip.com member using the pseudonym NooKhon Dee.
According to a report in Thai Rath, Mr Enami was born in Kanangawa on Sept 30, 1985. He was his parent's second child, is 180 centimetres tall and is blood type O.
The reporter was in a baseball club during his high school years, and later joined a swimming club when he studied public law at Keio University - one of Japan's leading universities.
Mr Enami apparently dreamt of becoming a journalist since childhood.
His hobbies are swimming, bowling and mountaineering and he has made guest appearances on Japanese TV programmes, including Room of Kings and Ninkyo Helper. It is said he has an aversion to sideburns, because his hair grows really fast.
However, it is not known whether or Mr Enami is single or married.
