Sarawak Jakim man charged with falsifying claims

PETRA JAYA: A civil servant attached with the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) branch in Sarawak was charged at the Kuching Corruption Court here today with five counts of making false claims amounting to RM34,740.
Ahmad Tarzidi Ahmad Tamezi, 30, from Perak, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which was read before Judge Nixon Kennedy Kumbong.
Tarzidi, who is the Islamic Religious Affairs Assistant, was accused of committing all of the offences at his office in Jalan P. Ramlee in Kuching near here between Jan 28 and May 26 last year.
He was charged under Section 18 of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 for deceiving his company's principal with any receipt, account or other document that contains false material particulars.
Those convicted under this offence could be jailed up to 20 years and fined five times the value of the items that were falsely claimed, or RM10,000, whichever is higher.
Nixon fixed RM10,000 in court bail with two local sureties. He also fixed three day for hearing from June 15. State MACC deputy public prosecutor Low Chin How prosecuted while Tarzidi, who is still in service, was unrepresented.

Ummah mkn rasuah or duit harem x pe uolls, esok2 taubatan nasuha, makan babi haram serta merta terus jd darah daging, susah nak kena cuci darah segala. Tak sah ibadah. |
