RSPCA urges public not to copy Prince George by giving dogs ice cream and other food for humans

Cooling down with a royally tasty treat?

Prince George celebrated his third birthday on Friday and his loyal cocker spaniel Lupo was on hand to mark the occasion. Pictures of the future king playing in the grounds of his family home were released by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, though this image, showing the prince offering his ice cream cone to his four-legged guest of honour, has caused a bit of a stir.

What’s the problem?
The RSPCA said in a statement: “It is lovely that Prince George is trying to help keep his family dog, Lupo, cool in these high temperatures.” However the charity warned other dog-owners not to follow suit.
So it’s one rule for the Royals, another for the rest of us? Typical!
The charity stressed some human foods, such as ice cream, can be dangerous for dogs. “We would advise people to be cautious when giving their dogs food meant for human consumption as some items, like chocolate, can be highly toxic to dogs and dairy items can be difficult for them to digest,” it said.

Hopefully the young prince will think twice before feeding Lupo again…

The RSPCA insisted it was not criticising Prince George, but was “just giving advice to dog owners about what we recommend with dogs’ diets”.

What about pets who just want to cool down with a cold treat?
“Instead of ice cream we would suggest making an ice lolly from pet friendly ingredients,” the charity advised. “Making these can be really fun for children and the end product is both safe and enjoyable for dogs.”

Did Prince George and his family enjoy the day?

A spokesman for the Duke and duchess of Cambridge said: “They would like to thank everyone for all the lovely messages they have received as Prince George celebrates his third birthday.” The prince is due to start school full-time in September 2017. The Duke of Cambridge recently revealed he and the Duchess of Cambridge are trying to decide where to send him.

bila dikatakan 'public figure'  even as young as Prince George , then whatever he does will be scrutinised to boots.
