Se7en? new ventures

SINGING, dancing and now acting: Is there anything that Korean pop idol Se7en cannot do?
Since his debut in 2003, Se7en? vocal and choreographic talents have been celebrated across Asia. The first male solo under YG Entertainment to break into the Japanese market in 2004, Se7en won enormous popularity in Japan and Thailand with remarkable album sales and successful promotion tours.
Not satisfied with resting on his regional laurels, Se7en is planning to take his special talents across the Pacific to the United States as well as find time to promote his upcoming album and take acting lessons for an upcoming TV drama.
The artiste? agency YG Entertainment said on its website that ?e7en went to Washington to record his first single, which is scheduled to be released in the United States next spring?.
South Korean singer Se7en will be taking the lead role in the upcoming Korean TV drama, The Palace Season 2.
The agency said it signed a contract with Mark Shimmel Music to jointly produce Se7en? single and support his entertainment activities in the United States. Shimmel is well known for discovering world famous pop artiste Usher and producing the records of R&B pop singers such as Toni Braxton and TLC.
Se7en? single album in the United States will be produced by Rich Harrison, the Grammy Award winner responsible for diva Beyonce Knowles? smash hit Crazy in Love.
?n the past, it was very difficult to have an opportunity to present a Korean singer in the American music industry but, fortunately, we met good partner,? said Yang Hyun-suk, the founder and owner of YG Entertainment, who wields enormous influence in the Korean pop industry, working with famous pop stars like Wheesung and Gummy.
?fter YG Family? New York concert, Shimmel said it will work out well. I? happy because it seems like one of the best US musical business talents recognised Se7en? ability.?
With preparations for his debut in the United States moving into overdrive, Se7en is also busy promoting his new album, Se7volution ? coined from ?e7en? and ?volution?.
The title track, La La La, is a slow tempo pop number in which Se7en refrains from dabbling in too much on-stage choreography. The dazzling dancer with the innocent face used to be a draw card with South Korea? youth audience. But now, he is looking in another direction.
?ecause we have put so much emphasis on strong hip hop beats in Se7en? previous albums, it? time for a change to good melodies and vocal sounds,? said YG Entertainment.
Out of 14 tracks in the album, Se7en composed two songs and wrote lyrics for several other tracks as well.
Meanwhile, Se7en is to take a lead role in the upcoming Korean TV drama, The Palace Season 2. With the drama, the singer will also make his on-screen debut in the Asian drama market.
The Palace Season 2 depicts a young man who works in a Chinese restaurant, not knowing he is a descendant of a royal family. Later, the extroverted guy enters into the palace to be crowned as king.
The producer of The Palace Season 2, Hwang In-roe, said he picked Se7en for the role because the performer is known to be humble and hardworking.
However, some drama fans have vehemently opposed the idea of casting Se7en, citing that he has no acting experience and will deprive other newly recruited KBS actors of their chance to act.
Se7en once vowed he would never cross over into acting and will remain focused on singing, but his change of heart seems to stem from seeing other Korean performers become Asian megastars through the influence of hallyu (the Korean Wave).
?o continue the popularity of the Korean culture in Asia, drama acting is somewhat inevitable,? YG Entertainment said.
Indeed, singer Rain, who recently showcased a premiere of his upcoming world tour in Seoul, is a good example of attaining global fame through acting in a drama that spread across the whole Asian region. Rain? popularity in Asia soared after acting in the 2003 drama Sang Doo! Let? Go to School and the 2004 drama Full House.

Goong 2 to start filming at Incheon on the 20th november
Goong 2 will officially start filming on the 20th of november. The first scene which will be shot will be about the main character Lee Hoo's everyday life, who does not know he possesses royal blood. The shooting will take place at incheon's chinatown. Se7en, park shin hye, kang doo and heo yi jae have been recently receiving lessons in martial arts, horseriding, traditions etc.
In the past week, Hwang PD has been going around places outside seoul to find places to film in order to capture that beautiful scenery as he did in Goong 1. But he hasnt been successful and has been turned down by palaces on the cultural heritage list (i think) and therefore is planning on going to other places. Someone from the production team said taht they were not even asking to go in and film but still got turned down. They have suggested that through the drama, perhaps overseas viewers will be able to learn about korean ancient palaces in a natural way. At the moment, the hwa sung (fortress @ suwon) set design has been completed. Indoor scenes will be filmed here and outdoor scenes will be filmed at either Deok soo palace, gyungbok palace or chang deok palace if possible.

It has been revealed that the name Goong season 2 will be changed to Goong S. Although there is the problem of changed production companies, it's also because the story and characters are totally different, so they changed it to Goong S. S stands for a few things- a new Start, a Special story, a Spin off the original drama, the Secret that se7en was going to lead the drama.
The drama is scheduled to be broadcasted from the 10th january, after 90days to fall in love finishes (ie it was be a wed-thur drama)

Plot: The Queen (played by myung se bin) is in her early 30s but still unmarried. Because of this, in a condition where there cannot be a reduction in the number of successors to the throne, the present prince (the 1st successor) suddenly leaves the world and leaves a vacancy in the line of successors.
So they go out to find the secret prince and finally find Lee hoo (played by Se7en), who has been living outside the palace.
Lee hoo is the son of a prince and his mother who died early, had departed with his father and left the palace, hiding the fact that she was already pregnant. He does not know that he possesses royal blood and has lived, working as a delivery boy at a chinese restaurant.
Although usually, he has wang ja byung (?) (prince disease), he had never dreamt of entering the palace and receiving royal lessons.
Lee hoo, the unbelievable no 1 successor to the throne and the perfect Lee Joon (played by kang doo) will bring tension to the drama as they fight over the position.
After Lee Hoo enters the palace, an important place will be the royal academy. It is a place for members of the royal family as well as descendents of wealthy families.
The drama will also be about the romance between the characters.
Filming will start in November 2006 to be aired on MBC starting from January 10th 2007

Seven aka Choi Dong-Wook plays the character: Lee Hoo
Huh Lee-Jae plays the character: Yang Soon-Ae (she's the main female lead, since she plays the opposite of Seven)
Kang Doo plays the character: Lee Joon (he's from the group 'The Jadu', but according to that picture of the four leads...he sure doesn't look like Kang Doo, lol)
Park Shin Hye plays the character: Shin Sae-Ryung
Lee Hoo (Seven): His blood flows in a Royal family, but Lee Hoo doesn't know it. Not knowing that he's a prince, he works at a Chinese Restaurant as a delivery boy...delivering food in the palace. He looks at everything in a positive aspect and is an optimist by nature. Though he's in poverty (poor), he lives every day freely...but one day, something happens and it's the start of his life as a royal.
Yang Soon-Ae (Huh Lee-Jae): Everyone in the neighborhood knows Soon-Ae as an impracticable girl. She thinks preciously of her fraternal twin. But one day, she finds out that Lee Hoo is the boy that she grew up with as a child, and they start their life's together in the palace.
Kang Doo (Lee Joon): To become a prince, he recieved training as a mastery elite. He's a great candidate. Lee Hoo's appearance makes Lee Joon get farther away from becoming a prince. He's a perfectionist.
Park Shin-Hye (Shin Sae-Ryung): Honor and power, Sae-Ryung grew up in a wealthy family. She has never lost first place/spot at school (meaning she's very smart)...she has skills and the looks of becoming prince's wife. She always had the ambition of becoming a royal princess. However, the prince that she has always imagined of is completely different when she see's Lee Hoo's sudden appearance. A change comes to her way.
Note: Yang Soon Ae's twin is NOT Se7en.

Lee Hoo (20 years old)
A member of the royal family- with royal blood running through him.
But he himself does not know of this fact and works, delivering ja jang myun at a chinese restaurant in incheon. He is an affirmative and happy go lucky type of person. He is a delivery "jjang" of the chinese takeaway delivery world, and No matter how late he takes 7 minutes maximum for a delivery.
Even though he is not well educated, becuase he is so accommodating, he can get close, get on well easily with anyone. His problem is that he always confronts things with martial arts and kung fu.
In reality, he's not good at martial arts but because he can put out a good pose, there are ppl who get tricked thinking he is good. He's the type that starts off with words and fights with words. His comics are martial arts, movies also martial arts and although he doesnt read alot, the only books he reads are martial art novels. Suddenly ppl from the palace come looking for him
"I have royal blood running through me? What are you tlaking about?"
Hoo, who has been living as Kang Hoo has to change into Lee now now, and enter the palace and receive education....

He will be playing the sajang of the chinese restaurant that Lee hoo works at. Although he originally was a royal knight (sorry that sounds funny, well u know more like a bodyguard type of person), he hides his past and runs a restaurant in which lee hoo works at.
He treats Lee hoo likes his own son and is the only person who knows the secret that lee hoo possess royal blood. He has lived without telling anyone about this.
A big part of Goong S will be centred at the Royal academy where the descendents of the wealthy families will also be.

She will be playing the mother of the Queen, played by Myung se bin. In the drama, together with myung se bin, she will be giving royal lessons to Lee hoo.
