Daripada kita dengar berita yg tak confirm, baiklah kita semua nie berdoa semoga Tun cepat sembuh dan menjalani kehidupan macam biasa. Apa laaa korang nie.....Aku tersentak sangat bila korang kata Tun dah meninggal. Pada aku Tun adalah the best PM among the rest. Dialah orang yg bawak negara kita ke mata dunia. Dialah juga yg mencipta F1 Circuit...Putrajaya...MSC (Cyberjaya)...Dan dialah idola aku. Aku tak peduli apa orang nak cakap about bad things of him. Kalau takde Tun, negara kita tak akan jadi macam sekarang. Get well soon Tun....

Dr Mahathir Conscious, Doctors Happy With Current Progress

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is conscious and continues to be on close monitoring, the National Heart Institute (IJN) said in a statement tonight.

It said IJN doctors were happy with Dr Mahathir's current progress and he is able to receive visits from his immediate family members.

"Dr Mahathir remains stable in the intensive care unit at IJN following his his second surgical procedure last Saturday night," the statement added.

Meanwhile, Dr Mahathir's special officer, Sufi Yusoff urged the people not to listen to or spread rumours about the former prime minister's health condition.

"Rather than listening to rumours, it's better (for the people) to pray for his well-being,' he said when contacted by Bernama.

"The IJN is responsible and will not withhold any information with regards to Tun's health... please do not spread rumours," he said.

Earlier, when met by reporters at the IJN, Dr Mahathir's daughter, Datin Paduka Marina, said her father had to undergo rehabilitation again after surgery owing to a wound infection at the IJN on Saturday night.

She said that after the three-hour operation, Dr Mahathir, who is now warded at the ICU, was in stable condition and had been put on routine post-surgery support.-- BERNAMA

Dr Mahathir Can Sit, Eat Better - IJN

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 1 (Bernama) -- Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad continues to make progress in his post-surgical rehabilitation process, the National Heart Institute (IJN) said Monday.

IJN said he was now strong enough to sit on a chair and eat better.

"Doctors continue to focus on improving his nutritional status to build his muscle strength before he is put through more exercise sessions," IJN said in a statement.

Dr Mahathir continues to be warded at the intensive care unit and only immediate family members are allowed to visit him.

Dr Mahathir, 81, underwent a wound debridement surgery at the IJN on Sept 22 which was carried out by the same team of consultant surgeons who performed a second coronary bypass operation on him on Sept 4.

Meanwhile, his daughter Datin Paduka Marina said her father had requested to have his meal in private without doctors standing around watching.

She said in her blog that Dr Mahathir's meal this morning comprised scrambled eggs and bread, yoghurt, prune juice and coffee. -- BERNAMA

Don't Listen To Rumours On My Father's Health, Says Mukhriz

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 (Bernama) -- The people should not listen to rumours that the health condition of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is recuperating from a heart operation, has deteriorated.

Denying the rumours sent via short messaging service (SMS), his son, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, said his family would not hide or lie on the real condition of the former prime minister.

He said the people should follow progress of his father's health through press statements issued by the National Heart Institute (IJN) and from postings on the blog of his elder sister, Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, at www.rantingsbymm.blogspot.com.

He said the blog had postings on the daily progress of Dr Mahathir's condition.

"I am quite surprised over such rumours because the IJN issues statements and my family, through my sister, gives updates on my father's condition regularly through her blog.

"That's why I am quite surprised why there are still mischievous SMSses being sent out. Actually, this is not something new. Even when my father was ill before, such SMSses were circulated," he told reporters when asked to comment on rumours that Dr Mahathir's health condition was serious.

Asked whether the SMS senders had ulterior motives, Mukhriz said: "I don't know. Maybe they have ill intentions. But what surprises me is our attitude to forward SMSses to others without verifying the facts."

Dr Mahathir, 81, underwent a second heart bypass operation on Sept 4 at IJN.

Asked when Dr Mahathir would be discharged, Mukhriz said it was up to the specialists at IJN to decide.

"For now, we hope for the best. Our focus now is to ensure he receives the best treatment from IJN and when he is discharged, he is healthy," he said.

Urging the people to continue praying for his father's speedy recovery, Mukhriz said his father is being given adequate attention by specialists with the help of the state-of-the-art medical apparatus at IJN.

On Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, he said, his family discouraged visitors to visit his father until he has fully recovered and has returned home.

"They are welcome when we host a thanksgiving feast later," he said.

Mukhriz said his mother, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, who has been with Dr Mahathir since Sept 2, only left IJN once to break fast at the residence of his elder brother, Datuk Mokhzani Mahathir, and to meet family members and grandchildren.

Asked on Dr Mahathir's health condition, Mukhriz said: "We are very happy with his progress."

He said doctors are focusing attention on rebuilding Dr Mahathir's body strength.

"At this moment, they are not too picky about what he eats every day. He needs at least 2,000 calories a day.

"For this moment they will allow it. After two months, they will start looking into his diet," he said.

Currently, Dr Mahathir is on mixed diet like porridge, bread, ice-cream, jelly, eggs and nutritional drinks, he added.  -- BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 4 (Bernama) -- Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who is still warded at the National Heart Institute's (IJN) intensive care unit continues to show improvement, even enjoying home-cooked food, following surgery recently.

IJN, in a statement Thursday said Dr Mahathir, 81, was spending more time sitting up as he continued to gain strength to recover after 11 days in post-surgical rehabilitation.

"He is now able to consume home-cooked food as it is vital for Dr Mahathir to contiune to get good nutrition to build his strength.

"IJN doctors are happy that his parameters continue to be stable and he will continue to be warded at the ICU," it said.
