Perodua lancar kenderaan pacuan empat roda baru Mei

KUALA LUMPUR - Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn. Bhd. (Perodua) bakal melancarkan kenderaan pacuan empat roda (4WD) yang diberi nama Perodua Nautica pada 10 Mei ini.

Menurut satu kenyataan syarikat itu semalam, Nautica diilhamkan daripada perkataan 'nautical' yang berhubung kait dengan pelayaran berikutan imej ingin yang ditampil- kan menerusi kenderaan 4WD tersebut.

"Namanya menggambarkan cabaran dan dalam masa sama turut me- nampilkan kemewahan yang berupaya memberi pengalaman tanpa sempadan kepada pemiliknya," menurut kenyataan itu.

Menurut kenyataan yang sama, seperti juga kereta keluaran Perodua yang lain, kenderaan utiliti sukan (SUV) evolusi urban itu dicipta menepati cita rasa pengguna dengan reka bentuk lebih dinamik dan lasak.

Ia didatangkan dengan kapasiti enjin 1.5 liter dan dua warna iaitu medallion grey dan majestic black.

New Kembara Replacement Perodua SUV spotted!

A reader who wishes only to be identified as “The Stik” has sent in these photos of what is obviously the new Perodua SUV to be launched sometime in May 2008, replacing the Perodua Kembara. This trailer carrying a few covered up cars was spotted on Sunday on the Federal Highway. The new Perodua will have a 1.5 liter engine and 4WD.

The new SUV will likely get a new name even though it replaces the Kembara in its product range, and will also be the vehicle that launches Perodua’s new branding, as mentioned by Perodua MD Syed Hafiz in an interview with The Edge earlier.

From these photos, we can confirm that the new Kembara replacement Perodua SUV will be based on the Toyota Rush/Daihatsu Terios. No other detail is revealed other than the alloy wheel design which looks like a 5-spoke design as opposed to the Toyota Rush’s 6-spoke design.

Unlike all of Perodua’s current vehicles which are locally assembled, the new Perodua SUV will be fully imported from Japan and will positioned higher than its Indonesian-import Toyota Rush sibling in terms of pricing.

New Perodua Kembara Replacement due mid-2008

Perodua managing director Datuk Syed Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar indicated in a report by The Edge that we will see the launch of the new Perodua Kembara replacement model this year. The new Kembara will logically be based on the new Daihatsu Bego/Toyota Rush, and Perodua targets modest sales of about 300 units per month as they are going to focus on the Viva instead. The Kembara will not be a high volume seller for them.

Just a recap - the Daihatsu Bego or Toyota Rush that the new Perodua Kembara replacement is expected to be based on is powered by a 1.5 liter DVVT engine, similiar to the unit in the Toyota Avanza 1.5. It has a full time all wheel drive system. It first appeared as a concept car called the Daihatsu D-Compact 4X4 Concept.

Agaknya ini taktik baru toyota+perodua;-

Kereta jepun, diletak cap perodua, kurang cukai, dapat harga murah sikit tapi kualiti tinggi -- memang laku dijual --> cth: myvi & kembara baru ni.

Kereta indo, diletak cap toyota, walaupun kualiti kurang tapi berjenama -- juga laku dijual. --> avanza & rush (tapi rush ni, musykil juga la sambutannya)
