Sinopsis

Ha Ji Won Signs Romance-Fantasy Korean Drama ‘Secret Garden’
Korean actress Ha Ji Won has been announced to join Jang Hyuk’s new romance-fantasy Korean drama ‘Secret Garden’ as female lead. The drama will be Ha’s comeback drama after her last appearance 4 years ago in ‘Hwang Jin Yi’. Besides Jang Hyuk (Chuno, 2010), the drama has been also cast Kim Sa Rang, Yoon Sang Hyun, Philip Lee and Park Jae Bum.
The drama tells about a love story revolving around the game world and reality. Ha’s will portray an easy-going woman named Ra Im. She has a perfect look with S line body shape. She meets fatefully with an arrogant man named Joo Won (played by Jang Hyuk), a chaebol who operates a department store. Their meeting finally changes Joo Won’s character
In the drama, Yoon Sang Hyun from ‘Take Care of The Young Lady‘ plays a washed-up Hallyu star named Oscar. He will form be set into a love triangle relationship among Ha Ji Won and Jang Hyuk. Kim Sa Rang of ‘The King and I’ (SBS, 2007) will play a character named Yoon Seul as a CF Director. Philip Lee of ‘Story of a Man‘ has been cast as a martial arts director. Meanwhile, Jae Bum portrays a new singer named Sun.
‘Secret Garden’ is planned to air in September through SBS following the currently airing family-romance Korean drama ‘Life is Beautiful’.

Park Jae-beom likely to appear in new SBS drama
Boy band 2PM's former leader Park Jae-beom is likely to be cast in an upcoming SBS TV series tentatively titled "Secret Garden", according to an official with the show on Tuesday.
"We are currently negotiating on his appearance, with him in mind for the role of new singer Sun", the official explained.
Sun will be a gifted singer who has been hurt by the fact that the reason his father left his family is because of his mother's affair with another man.
Producer Sin Woo-cheol and scenarist Kim Eun-sook, famous for creating smash hits "Lovers in Paris" and "On Air", have teamed again for "Secret Garden", a fantasy melodrama which revolves around incidents occuring between reality and a game.
Actor Jang Hyeok has been set to play the lead role and Yoon Sang-hyeon and Kim Sa-rang are also strong candidates for the cast.
Park, 23, is in final stages of talks on signing an exclusive contract with top Korean talenthouse SidusHQ.
His solo debut single album, featuring the English, Korean and remix versions of song "Count on Me", went on sale today.
Park debuted as the leader of popular K-pop band 2PM but he left the group and the country last September when controversy fired up over remarks he had written on his MySpace account while a trainee at agency JYP Entertainment (JYPE).
He had been staying in the U.S. since, dancing with his b-boy crew Art of Movement and signing with U.S. online media company Digital Media Wire (DMW) to manage his global career.
He returned to Korea on June 18 to begin filming for the b-boy pic "Hype Nation". |

Ha Ji-Won returns to televisyen with Secret Garden
Secret Garden has cast Ha Ji-won to star opposite Jang Hyuk in the “fantasy romantic comedy” drama set to air on SBS later this year. Note that the contract is “not finalized yet” — and we know why that’s a tricky deal — but the production company announced the casting on July 20 as though it were a done deal.
Ha will play a beautiful, skilled stuntwoman named Kil La-im (it is a Korean name despite being rather unusual) who “gets entangled with the immature and prickly Joo-won,” a department store president and chaebol played by Jang Hyuk. Also starring is Yoon Sang-hyun (Queen of Housewives) as a washed-up Hallyu star (haha) named Oscar, with whom Ha Ji-won and Jang Hyuk will fall into a love triangle.
Philip Lee (Story of a Man), and Kim Sarang (Tokyo Showers) are also cast, he as a martial arts director and she as a CF director. The drama has also been the source of speculation as to whether ex-2PM star Jaebum will sign on as a rookie singer named Sun.
This will be Ha’s first drama in nearly four years, ever since she played the famed gisaeng Hwang Jini in the drama of the same name. Since then, her film career has taken off with hits like disaster flick Haeundae and melodrama My Love By My Side. She’s slated for another film this year, the action blockbuster Sector 7.
Secret Garden will replace Life Is Beautiful on weekends and is scheduled to premiere in September. The project comes from the team that did On Air and Lovers In Paris, PD Shin Woo-chul and Kim Eun-sook. |

Fantasy romance Secret Garden casts leads
 
SBS is in the planning stages for a new weekend drama, Secret Garden, and has cast Jang Hyuk (Chuno) and Kim Sarang (Tokyo Showers) in the lead roles.
Secret Garden is described as a “fantasy melodrama”; the love between the leads develops as the story comes and goes “between game and reality.” Jang Hyuk plays a proud chaebol who runs a department store. Kim Sarang plays a skilled CF director who carries herself with confidence and haughtiness, but finds herself flustered around Jang Hyuk, who doesn’t spare her a second glance.
I find this news interesting for two reasons: First, Jang Hyuk has another project he’s busy working on, the Chinese remake of early Hallyu hit All About Eve, which hasn’t aired yet. It’s scheduled to premiere in September, and so is Secret Garden. He is going to be BUSY.
Second, writer Kim Eun-sook, who made a name for herself with fast-flying dialogue in Lovers in Paris and On Air, has already announced another drama series for this year, My Princess starring Kim Tae-hee and Song Seung-heon. My Princess doesn’t yet have a broadcast date (it was announced for “sometime later in 2010″), and as far as I know it’s still a go. In Secret Garden, writer Kim will re-team with her PD from those earlier dramas, Shin Woo-chul.
Secret Garden will be 20 episodes and replaces Life Is Beautiful on SBS.
It’ll be the first drama in two and a half years for Kim Sarang, who was 2000′s Miss Korea; she last took the lead in the joint Korea-Japan production Tokyo Showers, a short four-episode special (which was Ivy’s acting debut). Previous to that, she played a jazz singer in the movie Radio Days and was also in the sageuk King and I.
