One Day ialah novel oleh David Nicholls, diterbitkan pada tahun 2009. Setiap bab merangkumi kehidupan dua protagonis pada 15 Julai, Hari St Swithin, selama 20 tahun. Novel ini menarik ulasan positif dan dinamakan 2010 Galaxy Book of the Year. Nicholls menyesuaikan bukunya menjadi lakon layar; filem cereka, telah dikeluarkan pada Ogos 2011, dan siri televisyen untuk Netflix, ditayangkan pada 8 Februari 2024...
Pada masa penerbitan buku itu, Nicholls menulis bahawa dia sedang mengadaptasi novelnya sebagai skrip filem...
Filem ini diarahkan oleh Lone Scherfig untuk Random House Films dan Focus Features, dengan tayangan teater pada Ogos 2011. Anne Hathaway dan Jim Sturgess masing-masing membawakan watak Emma dan Dexter. Penggambaran berlaku di England, Scotland, dan Perancis...
Pada November 2021, telah diumumkan bahawa Netflix akan mengadaptasi novel itu ke dalam siri televisyen. Pasukan penulis untuk siri ini diketuai oleh Nicole Taylor, bekerja dengan Anna Jordan, Vinay Patel dan Bijan Sheibani dan akan diterbitkan oleh Drama Republic, Universal International Studios dan Focus Features... Ambika Mod dan Leo Woodall akan berlakon sebagai watak utama...

Iols suka Anne Hathaway dengan Jim Sturgess berlakon dekat movie ni sebagai watak Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew. They are both very cute, and fit perfect for the character....Iols rasa Anney & Jim memang more good looking rather than pelakon siris ni Ambika Mod & Leo Woodall, It seems that we find it easier to sympathize with characters who are more good looking than others...So bile macam ni Anney and Jim boleh win...
But yang best pasal One Day ni bukan semata lakonan Anney & Jim,but story pun memang best...I think I fell in love with the characters of Emma Morley and Dexter regardless of who played them...I want to give Ambika Mod & Leo Woodall a chance...
Iols nak tengok siris ni, for the story...for Emma Morley...and Dexter Mayhew... in a longer and more complete story...

Thank you Aina for being willing to watch and share your nice review... I've watched the first episode, I see that the duration of each episode is not too long. I'm not in a hurry to finish this series because there aren't that many series that I want to watch lately. I also don't plan to watch this series over and over again too, so I want to enjoy this series slowly, maybe over the next few weeks...
But from the first episode I watched I confirmed a few things. I really like the characters of Emma Morley and Dexter... maybe in the series Emma is a little ruder in speaking than in the film, and my liking for Emma hasn't changed... over all the story becomes more detailed without making the story long-winded. This series met my expectations in the first episode...

In the past, when I watched the film, besides I liked the story of the relationship between Emma and Dexter, I also liked the way they thought and acted... They really represent the way young people think, like Dexter's life is very free and success and fame are his life goals. Meanwhile, Emma is often seen acting the opposite way. Each of them has a goal in life and when they grow up they have to accept the fact that life is not always what they expected... They want what they want but what they get... They like who they like but who they marry... and accept the fact that the life we have want is not as fun as we think... this story reflects a lot of the ups and downs of our lives too...
Many people find it very easy to end a relationship if there are too many problems in the relationship, whether it's a friendship or something else. Many people don't like conflict and don't like being dependent on others. So there are also many words of wisdom that suggest cutting off a relationship if there is a lot of conflict and flaws in other people in the relationship. But in this world who doesn't have flaws? Often this happens over and over again and ends in people not having anyone in their lives....
In the One Day story it might be a little different. Maybe there are wise words that suit Emma and Dexter's situation: "If you love and get hurt, love more. If you love more and hurt more, love even more. If you love even more and get hurt even more, love some more until it hurts no more.” From Emma and Dexter's relationship, I learned that relationships must be fought for... maybe the story in the film is not completely like that, but that's what came to my mind when watching it...
Maybe I'm digesting this story too much haha...but that's what I think about this film/series. I'm not trying to suggest staying or breaking off a relationship because everyone's situation is different...but I feel like I learned a lot of lessons in the film and want to repeat them again in this series....

Iols takde baca novel, so Iols tak bisa compare....But bila tengok dekat filem dan siris ni memang ade kesamaan, Iols rasa Emma memang intelligent...Sheols hard worker but bile cakap memang to the point je lah, so macam terkesan rude (Iols rasa macam sedang ghibah hahaha....)...Iols rasa Emma dekat buku maybe tak digambarkan cantek sangat macam Anne Hathaway, bila cantek tak perlulah Dexter senang dengan perempuan-perempuan lain kan....but maybe pemilihan Anne dekat filem sebab comersial purpose for the film only, but appearance dan lakonan die dekat filem memang perfect for the character ....for me Ambika Mod is enough.....itu je my opinion...maybe Uols ade opini lain?

First of all, Iols peminat all movie genres ...Iols eat them all haha...
Iols dah post every movie genre dekat sini tak cume romance je.....Iols dah post genre comedy, action, thriller, history, superheros, horror dan macam2 lah as long Iols rasa filem punye crite menarik Iols post je haha....
Thanks for your comment...Iols jadi rasa curious juga, seberapa banyak lelaki yang senang tengok romance movie and genre lain... so Iols find Most popular movie genres among adults in the United States as of December 2018...not latest data and asian region but maybe still relevant dengan persekitaran (Itu je yang bisa Iols dapat haha...)
Iols rasa banyak juga lelaki peminat romace movie (55%)....hampir sama dengan peminat horror (57%), lagi banyak dari musical (48%)....tapi ada benarnya juga kerana genre romance berada di peringkat kedua terbawah dari genre filem yang disukai lelaki...
It's funny coz original story movie ni juga ditulis Lelaki (David Nicholls), maybe lelaki juga senang berangan pasal cerite romnance haha... cerite romance lain juga banyak ditulis lelaki macam Romeo and Juliet (William Shakespeare), Titanic (James Cameron), Ayat Ayat Cinta (Habiburrahman El Shirazy), Tenggelamnya Kapal Van der Wijck (Buya Hamka) dan masih banyak yang lain... So Iols rasa macam sikit tone deaf je, "...selalu perempuan mesti suka filem romantic..." or "...selalu lelaki mesti suka filem lucah (sory... I mean filem action haha...)."

Baru habis tengok cerita ni , i secara tak sengaja binge watched this series.
Walaupun heroin nya agak tak komersial, ahah tapi lakonan both of them meresap sampai i pun rasa sakit dada bila scene sedih.
I never watched the film (or did I?) nor read the book. Tapi best.
