Zombie atau zombi adalah sebutan untuk mayat hidup dalam sistem kepercayaan voodoo.
Cerita Zombie sendiri berasal dari cerita spirtual masyarakat Afrika-Karibia,Zombie adalah manusia yang rohnya sudah dicuri oleh suatu kekuatan magis. Menurut ajaran Voodoo, pendeta voodoo atau yang disebut Bokor, mampu menghidupkan orang mati. Bokor, dalam sering dikaitkan oleh masyarakat Haiti sebagai pembuat dan pengendali Zombie. Bokor sendiri adalah seorang penyihir atau Houngan. Houngan adalah sebutan untuk pemimpin llaki, sedangkan yang wanita bernama Mambo.
