Lee Seung Gi Promotes ‘The King’ on ‘1 Night, 2 Days’
Lee Seung Gi is officially the king of promoting...himself.
Lee mentioned his upcoming acting comeback piece, MBC’s The King (tentative title), on the February 5 broadcast of KBS2’s 1 Night, 2 Days.
While the team was searching for the hidden secrets of Gyeongbok Palace, Eun Ji Won made a comment that befit his Cho-ding (elementary school student) image: “I wish I could live as a king just once.”
At this, the other members pointed out, “Kings have to wake up early in the morning. They’re trained from when they’re young, so they have to study in the morning,” and Lee stepped forward to say, “I’ll show you the kind of king you want to be in my upcoming drama.”
Lee also showed he was working hard for his drama outside of the camera with his sharper and trimmed looks.
When the members noticed, “I think you’ve lost weight,” Lee said, “I’m trying to lose weight to prepare for my drama,” and added he would be partnering up with Ha Ji Won.
The King is to be a romcom about a prince of Korea—under the premise that Korea is a constitutional monarchy— who′s set up to marry an instructor from North Korea’s Special Forces. The drama will follow The Sun and the Moon in March.
Lee Seung Gi will be taking on the role of the prince of South Korea, Lee Jae Ha, who has a royal background, great humor and good looks, but isn’t looking to make a big name for himself in the political world.
