From his Pakistan hideout, Uighur leader vows revenge on China
ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Entrenched in secret mountain bases on Pakistan's border with Afghanistan, Uighur fighters are gearing up for retribution against China to avenge the deaths of comrades in Beijing's crackdown on a separatist movement, their leader told Reuters.
In a rare but brief interview, Abdullah Mansour, leader of the rebel Turkestan Islamic Party, said it was his holy duty to fight the Chinese. "The fight against China is our Islamic responsibility and we have to fulfil it," he said from an undisclosed location.
"China is not only our enemy, but it is the enemy of all Muslims... We have plans for many attacks in China," he said, speaking in the Uighur language through an interpreter. "We have a message to China that East Turkestan people and other Muslims have woken up. They cannot suppress us and Islam any more. Muslims will take revenge."
Mansour spoke on a crackly line using a mobile phone with an Afghan SIM card in a brief statement that gave Reuters no chance to ask about the Kunming attack.

Kebanyakkan orang ughyur merempat merata2. Selalu kat beijing boleh nampak bangsa ughyur ni di kawasan2 masjid dan depa selalu jual kacang ala2 kacang peanut brittle gitu.
Depa cerita depa datang ke beijing memakan masa dan perjalanan adalah 15,000km..jauhkan..
Tapi wanita2 nya sangat lawa..yg pakai tudung mmg cantik gila (jumpa kat muslim market in beijing) macam mat salleh tapi mata sikit sepet..hehehe..

He’s a 35-year-old Uyghur oil painter from Kashgar, a fabled oasis town on the old Silk Road. The Uyghurs are Turkic-speaking Muslim people who inhabit China’s far west Xinjiang region.
I spoke to the artist’s friend, Beijing-based Uyghur photographer and TV cameraman Kuerbanjiang Saimaiti(ph) .
KUERBANJIANG SAIMAITI: (Through translator) His paintings are all about his hometown: portraits, the old houses of Kashgar, women, children, old folks.
KUHN: He says his friend’s main interest in life is capturing the colors and the textures of his Central Asian homeland on canvas. His friend doesn’t drink or smoke. He’s a Communist Party member but, he adds, he hasn’t completely abandoned his Islamic faith. He says that Memetjan Abdullah was the only Uyghur chosen to join a group of two dozen Chinese painters traveling to Malaysia on an exchange program.

Interpol and Malaysian officials are looking at a 35 year-old Uighur passenger on missing flight MH370. The suspect passenger had previously taken flight simulation training in 2006. The man has a PHD from a university in Britain and is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, at a Turkish university.
Ethnic Muslim Uighurs from western China have been responsible for several terror attacks in China. Earlier this month the Uighurs, who make up 45 percent of the population of Xinjiang, were blamed for a violent attack at a Chinese train station.
28 were killed in the attack. (Ibiza Online)
The Malay Mail Online reported:
Malaysian police and Interpol are combing through the personal backgrounds of passengers and crew of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, and have confirmed they are taking a close look at a 35-year-old passenger of Uighur descent.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Hadi Ho Abdullah confirmed this in a report in the Malay language daily Harian Metro today.
“We will conduct further investigations into this matter,” he said, without divulging further details.
It is understood that the police have also searched the family homes of crew members including the pilot and co-pilot of the flight, as terrorism and sabotage has not been ruled out as a reason behind the disappearance of the airliner.
An unnamed source had told the daily that Malaysian police and Interpol are focusing their attention on this man because of the skills he possessed.
“We are not saying that he is involved in terrorism, suspected of sabotaging or hijacking the plane, it’s just that more attention is on him because of his background and we feel that there are important elements that have to be looked at,” the source was quoted as saying.
The Uighurs are a Turkic ethnic group primarily living in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region in China. |

THE UIGHUR CONNECTION: Who is PASSENGER NO. 84 on flight MH370?

You may have seen the passenger list of flight MH370 circulating, and if you look closely you may have noticed that Passenger 84's name has been blurred out.
Here is the uncensored version. Please note that it is UNVERIFIED.
Rumours are circulating as to who Passenger 84 is and why the name was blurred out in the first place.
According to The Real Singapore reader CK,
Apparently on Chinese social media (i.e. netizens), there is a photo of a passengers list which includes all passenger names and information.
On this picture, the name of passenger 84 is blurred out. Apparently the rumor among the netizens is that Passenger 84 is Uyghur, an ethnic group in China.
Malaysia is looking at a possible terror link in the disappearance of an plane believed to have gone down in the sea with 239 people aboard, the country's transport minister said, as the FBI indicated it would pursue its own investigation into the crash.
Hishammuddin Hussein said Malaysian security agencies were investigating after it was discovered that two passengers may have boarded missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 using stolen passports, raising fears of potential terrorism.

Lot of strange information about the stolen passports on MH370:
1. The fake passports were used to buy two of only seven tickets sold by China Southern Airlines
2. The two passports were on a list of stolen documents and still could board the plane.
3. As it was an Austrian and Italian passport, they presumably must have had visas (or connecting flights). If their final destination was Beijing, how could they get visas?
My points:
1) There are lots of Buddhists onboard this plane who were returning home to Beijing after attending a Buddhist event in KL
2) The Turkish Uighur Muslim cleric has called for Jihad against PRC Buddhists in late Feb.
3) Two European passports were stolen and used to buy air tickets to board this plane.
4) Initially I was puzzled why European passports? Now it makes sense if Turks were involved.
