SINGAPORE: The Singapore Government will match any new toll or increase in toll charges if there is a new toll or an increase in toll charges by Malaysia at the Johor Causeway. The island republic's Land Transport Authority (LTA) said, in a statement, that this is because it has been its practice to peg Singapore's tolls to match those set by Malaysia at the Causeway and the Second Link. In response to media queries, it noted from media reports that Malaysia's Works Ministry would increase toll charges for all vehicles, except motorcycles, travelling from Singapore to Johor through the Johor Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex at the Causeway, as well as introduce a new toll for all vehicles travelling from Johor to Singapore with effect from Aug 1 this year. "These Causeway toll changes are different from Malaysia's earlier announcement to impose an entry fee on foreign-registered vehicles entering Johor.
"The Singapore Government has not received any communication from the Malaysian authorities on this new toll or increase in toll charges, and has requested for official confirmation from the Malaysian Government on the media reports." - Bernama Read here: [size=17.27272605895996px]http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2014/07/28/Singapore-toll-causeway-match-malaysia/
