Malaysian Airlines steward assaulted woman afraid of flying

A Malaysian Airlines flight attendant has been remanded in custody in Paris after admitting that he sexually assaulted a female passenger who was scared of flying.
The 54-year chief steward confessed to taking advantage of the Australian passenger’s fear by encouraging her to lie down in an unoccupied row of seats and then trying to force her to have sex with him.
She said she had told the cabin crew that she was nervous about flying after Malaysia Airlines suffered two recent tragedies. One of its planes disappeared over the Indian Ocean with 239 passengers on board while on route

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14, 2014:
A steward on a Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight was arrested for alleged sexual assault in a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Paris.
MAS confirmed the incident, following allegations by a passenger travelling on flight MH20 on Aug 4 of inappropriate sexual behaviour by a member of the cabin crew.
MAS in a statement today said the staff in question has been detained for questioning by the French police.
It said MAS expects and accepts nothing short of the highest standards of conduct from its crew and takes any such allegations very seriously.
“We will naturally assist the French authorities as they conduct their investigation and would stress that the safety, comfort and well-being of our passengers is always our highest priority.”
It was reported earlier by The Cubic Lane news portal that an Australian passenger had filed the complaint of sexual assault.
It was alleged that the passenger had boarded the plane and later expressed deep concerns about the safety of the flight to the crew.
It was then alleged that a steward offered to sit next to her in order to “comfort” her.
The “nice” gesture, however, quickly turned into sexual assault, claimed the passenger.
The Cubic Lane said on her arrival at the airport of Roissy-Charles de Gaulle in Paris, the passenger contacted the police and explained what had happened on the plane.
The steward was then questioned two days later, and had confessed, after which he was taken into custody.
