bila sejuk tu efek mcm org yg kena pnyakit ALS tu..so mcm br ko fhm sakit tu camne..tapi tujuan asal sbnrnya pilih antara dua..nk kena simbah @ derma..ada je pass..taknak simbah..derma je..artis korea ada yg simbah dan derma..org lain tak tau la.

Scottish Teen Dies in ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ Related TragedyMark Piggott, IB TimesAug 26, 2014

Cameron Lancaster, 18, died in a tragedy linked to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

The death of an 18-year-old Scottish man in a flooded quarry is being linked to the “ice bucket challenge.”

Cameron Lancaster, of Burntisland, Fife, died Sunday. Emergency services — Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, and the Scottish Ambulance Service — were called to Preston Hill Quarry near Inverkeithing after he disappeared at around 5 p.m. His body was recovered at around 9 p.m. after four hours underwater.

In a statement, Lancaster’s family said: “Cameron died in a tragic accident. His death is such a great loss. During his short life, he touched so many people with his friendliness, kindness and thoughtful generosity of spirit. He will be hugely missed by his family and friends. The family are finding it hard to come to terms with this sudden loss and would ask for privacy.”

Although the exact circumstances of Lancaster’s death are yet to be established, locals say youths have been “tomb-stoning” into the quarry in a new take on the “ice bucket challenge,” which has gone viral recently. Usually participants are drenched in freezing buckets of water for charity.

Local councillor Alice McGarry said: “There are rumors and speculation that this tragedy is linked to the ice bucket challenge. Some children have been jumping off the cliffs at the quarry. They have always done that, but it seems there has been a recent increase because of this challenge. There is no confirmation at this stage, but that is what we think has happened. I saw a video of another boy jumping from one of the edges last week so this could be related.”

Wilma Sutherland, 41, told The Independent: “I asked my son who’s 15 if he had heard anything, and he told me that a young guy had taken part in the ice bucket challenge and then jumped in the quarry and didn’t come up. It’s a popular spot for swimming, and I’ve seen lots of teenagers jumping in.”

A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are under way to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and Police Scotland’s thoughts are with the family.”

The ice bucket challenge started as a way to raise money for motor neuron disease. Thousands of people including celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, President George W. Bush, and many others, though critics have claimed most participants simply want to take part without donating money.

Ironically the co-founder of the ALS ice bucket challenge, Corey Griffin, drowned following a diving accident on Aug. 16.

KUCHING: Up to a week ago, Chang Foh Soon (pic) was wondering why people dumped ice water on their heads to raise awareness about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

“People go bald to raise awareness about cancer, and I get that. But why ice? I don’t get it,” the 65-year-old retired science teacher said.

“Three days ago, my sister-in-law e-mailed me links to Ice Bucket Challenge videos on YouTube. At first, I thought it was ridiculous to get wet and cold. So what?” asked Chang, who himself was stricken with the motor neurone disease two years ago.

“I was fishing one day and realised I could not reel in the line. I thought I was exhausted. It was half a year later when I finally went to see a doctor,” he said at his home here last weekend.

“The doctor diagnosed me very quickly – within just an hour. I just got a shock,” Chang said, cracking up with laughter. “Maybe that’s why they use ice water-lah! It’s to give you the effect of shock!”

Chang went on to obtain a few more opinions on his case, including Australia.

“You don’t accept something like this, which has no cure, without getting more opinions,” said Chang, who was surprised by how little information there was about ALS in Malaysia.

“Of course, ALS is a very unusual disease, but there isn’t even a support group. The first group I came across was in Perth. It’s been two years and I haven’t even made contact with another patient in Malaysia.”

It is unclear what is the exact number of ALS patients in Malaysia, though in developed countries, there is on average one ALS patient for every 500,000 persons, suggesting that there might be about 60 ALS patients in Malaysia today.

“When I went to KL, I asked them (doctors) about an association. They said there was no association, and I thought, not even in KL? That’s quite unfortunate,” he said, adding that the most well known ALS sufferer to date would be Prof Stephen Hawking, 72.

“So finally, I saw more of the ice bucket challenge videos, and I thought, it’s good, there is a need to raise awareness.”

Chang has not felt the onset of the most serious stage of the disease yet – when his speech will slur and eating becomes difficult. He lets on that his golf handicap has deteriorated from 20 to 30.

“I can’t swing the way I did before, but I can still walk the 18 holes. No buggies. And I still go fishing,” said Chang.

“I’m not able to write like I used to, but my signature is still OK. I can’t use chopsticks any more. There aren’t good or bad days, it’s more like constant bad mornings. The first one or two hours are difficult.

“ALS is handicapping me. But once you know, then you know what to do. Right now, I want to do the ice bucket challenge!”

Boleh bg pncerahan tak pnyakit ALS tu mcmana. Kenapa ais boleh   mengubati penyakit ni? Tolong jgn citer psl neuron or motor. Tlg citer dlm bhs mudah. Thanx in advance
