DESOLATE POWER PLANT – BELGIUM

Power Plant IM is the derelict Power Plant of Centrale Electrique in Monceau-sur-Sambre on Rue Jambe de Bois in the town of Charleroi, in the municipality of Montigny-le-Tilleul, the Province of Hainaut, Walloon Region, Belgium.

The Power Plant IM is owned and was operated by Electrabel. Electrabel generates electricity and heat while supplying electricity and natural gas to 6 million people. The history of the Monceau-sur-Sambre Power Plant is scarce but it is said to have begun around the 1930′s and was a coal powered operation. The Power Plant of Centrale Electrique ceased operations in 2006. As of this year it is said that security is lacking because it is set for demolition. There are also reports of metal thieves gutting the place from the inside and people even being threatened.

teringin nak tahu kenapa Belgium tak preserve atau tak jadikan museum ekk?? Selalunya Negara-Negara scandi akan jadikan bangunan lama yang tak guna sebagai museum..in fact bangunan lama pun derang preserve ...sampai boleh tinggal til now...
