X-Men: Apocalypse Will Probably Change Course With These Main Characters

BY ERIC EISENBERG

Back in 2011, theX-Menfranchise managed to pull off something kind of incredible. After spending years of establishing actors like Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Rebecca Romijn as cinematic versions of Professor X, Magneto and Mystique, the series completely changed things up with the prequelX-Men: First Class- bringing in younger actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence to play the aforementioned parts. Now, three years later, the comic book movie franchise is ready to do a bit of recasting once again, although this time it will be with the characters like Jean Grey, Storm, Cyclops.

This news comes to us fromDeadline, which has gotten its hands on some big news about the in-developmentX-Men: Apocalypse. Included in a somewhat vague plot description of the film - which promises the return of McAvoy's Professsor X, Fassbender's Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Nicholas Hoult's Beast - the site seems to confirm that the movie will include "young Cyclops, Storm, Jean and others." This was previously hinted at by director Bryan Singerback in April, but now it sounds like we can officially start anticipating new casting rumors for youngX-Mencharacters. The report adds that there's a chance that the sequel could be the first movie to introduce the long-rumoredChanning Tatum version of Gambit, but the way that information is presented in the article seems more like speculation than confirmation.

Thinking about the timeline of theX-Menfranchise, it makes a lot of sense that the new, young versions of characters like Jean Grey, Storm, Cyclops would be introduced.X-Men: Apocalypsebegins a full 10 years after the events ofX-Men: Days of Future Past- which was set in 1973 - and it makes sense that around this time Professor X would be first bringing in some of his most notable students into his school for Gifted Youngsters. Judging from the ages of Famke Janssen, Halle Berry and James Marsden - who first played the trio of mutants in the originalX-Mentrilogy - we can probably expect that the young versions of their characters will be in their mid-teens.

X-Men: Apocalypseis currently penciled in to be released on May 27, 2016, and production is expected to start up next year. Simon Kinberg is writing the screenplay based on a story he developed with Bryan Singer,Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, and according to Deadline the movie will see the X-Men "fight their most formidable foe yet – an ancient unrelenting force determined to cause an apocalypse unlike any in human history." Are you excited yet? Do you have your own personal casting suggestions for the younger versions of Jean Grey, Storm and Cyclops? Let us know what you think in comment below

James McAvoy Will Probably Be Bald In The New 'X-Men' Movie

Emily Tess KatzHuffPost Live09/11/14 11:56 AM ET

There's very little that James McAvoy is at liberty to divulge about the next installment of "X-Men," but he did offer one interesting little factoid in a HuffPost Live interview on Wednesday.

"I'll be older in this one," McAvoy, who plays Professor Charles Xavier in the "X-Men" franchise, told host Alyona Minkovski. "[And] I think I'm losing my hair finally. And, yeah, that's kind of all I know."

Other than that, the actor affirmed he's truly in the dark as to what the next "X-Men" will entail.

"I got an email from the [producer/writer Simon Kinberg] who informed me he was getting dead excited about stuff, but he didn't want to divulge anything for a couple of weeks, so I really don't know," he said.

McAvoy also added that we can expect the 2016 film to be "fairly apocalyptic," which makes sense given that it's titled "X-Men: Apocalypse."

"It seems fairly global, if we're talking apocalypse," he hinted.

Catch James McAvoy in "Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby," in theaters on Sept. 12.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Concludes ‘First Class’ Story; May Include Cable & Psylocke

Published 2 hours ago by Rob Keyes

X-Men: Days of Future Pastdid a lot of things successfully. From a business standpoint, the return of OriginalX-Men 1 & 2helmsman Bryan Singer to the director’s chair helped the long-running superhero series get back on the right track, and the result was not only record-breaking box office results for the franchise, but a hit among fans and critics.

Confirmed earlier this week,Singer will return to direct the followup,X-Men: Apocalypse, which begins shooting in April for a May 2016 release. And somehow, even with the massive size of the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Apocalypse is being touted as being “bigger”and it might need to be since it will serve as an end of sorts for this younger core team and their story set in the past.

As we’ve known for some time,X-Men: Apocalypse skips forward another decade and will take place in the ’80s. We’re led to believe it won’t involve time-travel but its titular villain, the greatest threat the mutants will have faced in the series, makes his debut as a result of the meddling with time in Days of Future Past.Time-travel not only helped Singer and writer Simon Kinberg (partially) rectify the broken continuity of the movies to date, but it’s also giving them a plot device to introduce Apocalypse where they’re currently working in the timeline. That being said, given the ending of Days of Future Past, we already know who must make it out alive when it’s all said and done, but there’s plenty of room for new character debuts and a conclusion of sorts tothe story of what was initially setup inX-Men: First Class.

Speaking with Yahoo!, writer and producer Simon Kinberg spoke about whatX-Men: Apocalypse represents for the franchise:

“The thrust of ‘Apocalypse’ is really to complete the trilogy we began with First Class – to complete the stories of young Raven, young Hank, younger Charles and Erik. And complete this trilogy of four people who began the films sort of disparate and in different worlds… [and who] we’ve followed through the span of decades. So that’ll be the thrust. There will be familiar characters and new characters that we haven’t seen… ever… but it’ll be the completion of what we began in First Class.”

Even if X-Men: Apocalypseis an “end” of sorts, it really isn’t. It could be the end of X-Men movies set in the past, allowing for follow ups to continue in the present or near future timeline. Such a leap could see the series potentially bringing back the original cast (something talked about frequently by the producers) and/or mixing them with fresh faces we met in the future portion of Days of Future Pastor new comers introduced in Apocalypse. It could also be an end of sorts from a business standpoint, since contracts on many of the talent and creatives involved end withApocalypse. As far as we know, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult only signed for three movies each, and Kingberg/Singer aren’t locked in for another picture after the next one either. But that can all change pending the success ofApocalyspe, and moreX-Menfilms are coming, even if theFirst Classcrew is done.

And who knows, maybe we could get a newX-Men 4now that we can pretendX-Men 3(The Last Stand) didn’t happen. Kinberg’s interested:

“I’m entirely focused on Apocalypse and hopefully the best film in the franchise [but] it would be lovely to work with the original actors again. Perhaps, but right now its all Apocalypse.”

The more interesting topic when it comes toX-Men: Apocalypse howeveris the characters it will feature. We’ve heard the hints and ideas of Singer and Kinberg potentially including younger versions of originalX-MenCyclops, Jean Grey and Storm, but he’s also name dropped Gambit and Night crawler as characters of interest. We know Channing Tatum is all but confirmed to be playing Gambit down the road and it’s possible he’s first introduced in Apocalypse, and as forNightcrawler, we may finally see his origin played out since in Marvel Comics, he’s the son of Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence).

“All I will say is that ten years transpired between ‘First Class’ and ‘DOFP’, so anything is possible. She’s a young woman in her 20s going on 30s… and I will leave it at that!”

As for other new characters, we may finallyget proper introductions for key X-Men from the books, including Psylocke, the telepathic ninja who happens to be of interest to Kinberg and who almost made it intoX-Men: Days of Future Past.

“She’s a fan favorite, and also a favorite of mine. We have a small part that she plays in ‘Last Stand’, and we talked about including her in ‘DOFP’ quite seriously actually. There was a version of the script she was in and we even auditioned some actors in Montreal. But we didn’t feel there was enough of a part she would play in a movie that was already full of many, many mutants.

“She has a cool power. I know Bryan thinks she’s a neat character so there’s certainly a chance she’ll be in an X-Men movie some day. Hopefully there’ll be a lot of X-Men movies and there’s lot of mutants we’re yet to fully explore onscreen, even if they’ve had cameos before. Now we’re making more films there’s a chance to dig deeper.”

Cable & Deadpool

Believe it or not, the time-travelling mutant Cable, son of Cyclops, almost made it into X-Men: Days of Future Pastas well.

“We also talked about including him in ‘DOFP’. I will say, we love the character, we’d love to find a place for him in these movies, but I cannot confirm or deny which characters will actually be in ‘Apocalypse’ until I read some spoilers!”

Given the time-travel reasoning behind Apocalypse finally appearing in the movies now and the high likelihood of a young Cyclops being introduced inX-Men: Apocalypse, we havea good feeling that Cable may finally earn his big screen introduction as well. There’s no better time than now given the character’s role in Apocalypse storylines in the comics and the exciting recent news that Fox is also going to be shooting the long-awaited Deadpool spin off next year. Cable and Deadpool share many stories and comics together, and were introduced around the same time by the same creators in the comics. It’s too good of an opportunity to toss up, havingDeadpoolandX-Men: Apocalypse shooting around the same time and both arriving in theaters in 2016.

Then again, all bets are off when it comes to knowing for certainif all supporting characters will show up in the final product. Even if Psylocke was confirmed this week for instance, she could end up being cut or being replaced before, during or – like Anna Paquin’s Rogue inDays of Future Past– be cut from the theatrical version after shooting the scenes and promoting the movie.

Deadpoolis scheduled to hit theaters onFebruary 12, 2016, followed byX-Men: Apocalypse(not the official title) on March 3, 2017, and some as-yet unspecified X-Men film on July 13, 2018. In other Fox/Marvel film news,Fantastic Fouropens August 7, 2015, followed byFantastic Four 2on July 14, 2017.

'X-Men: Apocalypse' Will Finish 'First Class' Trilogy, Says Writer

4:40 PM PDT 10/3/2014 by Graeme McMillan

Expect more Xavier/Magneto and some Beast/Mystique as well
Twentieth Century Fox

X-Men: Apocalypsewill be the end of an era for Fox’s Marvel superhero franchise, according to screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg, who says thatthe 2016 movie will finish an arc that started with 2011’sX-Men: First Class.

“I will say that [X-Men: Apocalypse] is definitely the close of a trilogy for thoseFirst Class characters,” Kinberg told Collider, adding that it “isn’t to say we won’t see them in future movies, hopefully we will, but it’s a completion of an arc for them.”

Bryan Singer Promises More 'Mass Destruction' In 'X-Men: Apocalypse’

The conclusion of that arc will further explore the relationship betweenJames’s Charles Xavier andMichaelFassbender’s Erik Lensherr (A.K.A. Magneto), which Kinberg described as being “so integral to the franchise,” but that isn’t the only relationship to be advanced in the movie. “The relationship between Beast and Mystique is a really interesting one that we didn’t have a lot of time to explore inDays of Future Past,” the writer said. “We’ll have an opportunity to do more of that inApocalypse.”

Kinberg also confirmed earlier reports thatApocalypsewill follow Days of Future Past’s lead by jumping forward a decade between movies. “We’re having a lot of fun with the idea of the ‘80s,” he said. “It’s a decade that [directorBryan Singer] and I both grew up in, and so the music, the style, the aesthetic [and] the legacy of ‘80s movies is something we’re really having fun with.”

If this means that we might finally get to see the roller-skating greatness that isthe Disco Dazzler herself show up in a period-specific movie, then   X-Men: Apocalypse might just have become the must-see movie of 2016. Don’t let us down, X-producers.

x-men days of future past bagi aku dah selamatkan franchise x-men lepas the last stand yang bagi aku agak kureng dan merosakkan franchise xmen dengan membunuh karakter2 penting mcm cyclops, professor xavier dan jean..watak Angel pun hanya sekadar tempelan je dlm movie tu sedangkan dlm komik dia antara mutant yang menyerlah dalam xmen.

Kalau ikut komik dan animasi apocalypse ni badan dia sasa tp taktaulah versi hollywood camna.

Sedangkan versi magneto dalam komik pun sasa tp yang hollywood punya mcm tak bermaya. Versi muda nampak tegap sikit.
