3 AirAsia subsidiaries were named in a list of the World's Most Dangerous Airlines.

PETALING JAYA: The last 12 months have been the worst in terms of world airlines safety, with some of the most tragic and mysterious incidents occurring within several months of each other.

Malaysia suffered the most losses with two unprecedented tragedies involving Malaysian Airlines (MAS) which contributed to 537 deaths – 239 for MH370, and 298 for MH17.

Despite its poor performance, MAS scored five out of a possible seven stars for its safety record in a survey conducted by AirlineRatings.com.

Meanwhile, its rival AirAsia Malaysia, only scored three stars, putting it on a list of the World’s Most Dangerous Airlines, reported The Daily Mail UK.

Two other AirAsia subsidiaries, Indonesia and the Philippines, were included on the list, after they scored just two and three stars respectively.

A total of 162 lives were lost after AirAsia Indonesia flight QZ8501 crashed into the Java Sea on December 28, 2014.

AirlineRatings.com, the world’s only safety and product rating website, is a joint initiative between The West Australian and Aerospace Technical Publications International.

Since its launch in June 2013, AirlineRatings.com has ranked Qantas, with a zero-fatality record, the safest airline out of the 449 airlines studied.

The Telegraph UK reported that only 149 airlines achieved the full seven star safety rating which was based on seven specific safety criteria.

These included endorsement from the Federal Aviation Authority, International Air Transport Association operational safety audit (IOSA) certification, meeting safety parameters of the International Civil Aviation Organisation, whether it was on the European Union Blacklist, whether it operated only Russian built aircraft, and if the airline’s fleet had been grounded for safety reasons.

At the bottom of the list with only one-star rating, were Lion Air (Indonesia), SCAT Airlines (Kazakhstan) Kam Air (Afghanistan), and both Tara Air and Nepal Airlines from Nepal.

Despite last year’s deadly plane crashes, the report insisted that air travel is the safest method of transportation.

CNN reported Kane Ray, an analyst with the International Bureau of Aviation saying, “If you consider the sheer number of aircraft crashes, flying today is safer.”

According to the Geneva-based Bureau of Aircraft Accidents Archives, there were only 111 crashes in 2014.

The last time the world had 111 crashes was in 1927.

Air New Zealand, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, EVA Air, Finnair, Lufthansa, Qantas and Singapore Airlines

10 safest budget airlines (in alphabetical order)
Aer Lingus, Alaska Airlines, Icelandair, Jetblue, Jetstar, Kulula.com, Monarch Airlines, Thomas Cook, TUI Fly and Westjet

X sume ada screen. Me naik malindo nk ke kb from mlk. Dpt flight lama. Pastu time nak mendarat bergegar la jugak satu flight tu. Me n org sebelah da baca ayat kursi da.. tp y best dia bg free food. Biskut dgn air. Ok la kan, drpd xdok.. hehe

Haah, mmg x sume ada. Tp klako gk tgk stewardess malindo ni punye attire. Kain dia belah sampai atas. Sian stewardess dia kena pakai tight kaki sampai atas.Cer gugel tgk sendiri, hehe

MAS all this while rating 6/7, but start tahun ni and for the next 10 years, minus another 1 point for fatality free criteria.

AA...aku naik skali je,lepas tu tobat aku nak naik lagi...suasan suram,pramugara/gari muka masam2..and the worst, take off n landing, over gegar

MAS...aku suka naik MAS nih, walapun mahal dari AA..tapi aku feel much more comfortable than AA...and ada entertaiment.

the best...Emirates airlines, memang best..skali jek aku naik,ruang kaki agak selesa and suasana memang ceria jek..die punye entertainment di panggil ICE (kalau x silap la..x berapa ingat), uptodate movies..world best entertainment in flight for 10 years in the row.
