Ahey called off their engagement over a decade ago. But on Sunday night Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were acting like an old married couple when they had a behind-the-scenes reunion at the 87th Academy Awards in Hollywood, according to the Associated Press. The 42-year-old actor 'whispered in her ear' and then the 45-year-old Boy Next Door star playfully 'swatted his arm,' a source said.
J-Lo interestingly did not bring her rumoured beau Casper Smart (who she traveled to India with in early February for a private concert). And the Gone Girl star did not appear to bring his wife Jennifer Garner with whom he has three children. Both Lopez and Affleck served as presenters at the awards show which saw Birdman win Best Picture, Julianne Moore take home the statuette for Best Actress and Eddie Redmayne pick up the Oscar for Best Actor.
Lopez glowed in a sparkling beige Elie Saab gown while Affleck wore a black tux. The Good Will Hunting star met the Bronx beauty when they co-starred in Gigli. He proposed to with a 6.1-carat pink diamond engagement ring in late 2002. 'It was very, very beautiful,' Lopez told Diane Sawyer at the time of the engagement, adding that Affleck's proposal was 'traditional, but also in a very spectacular way, as of course Ben would do it.'
'We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an email saying, "Oh, your movie looks great,"' Ben told The Hollywood Reporter in 2012. 'I remember when she got American Idol. I said: "This was really smart. Good luck." I touch base. I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful.'
Jennifer's dress shimmered and sparkled as she and the Star Trek hunk presented the Oscar to Milena Canonero for The Grand Budapest Hotel. The mother-of-two recently celebrated her twins Max and Emme's seventh birthday with friendly ex Marc Anthony. She shared a cosy snap of the family at the recent celebration, writing: 'Party time!!! HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY TO THE COCONUTS!! #thesetwoknowhowtoparty #twins #LOVE #familia'
