Consumers can now check the prices of over 10,000 items using the MyKira GST app developed by the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry. — Reuters
PUTRAJAYA, April 1 — Those who are worried about the impact of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) can now check the prices of over 10,000 items using the MyKira GST app developed by the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.
Consumers can check the prices in two steps and they can even lodge complaints to the ministry via the app.
Once the app is downloaded, the user will be greeted with the home screen on which they can key in the product information including its name, content, price, previous price (optional) and name of store. When the user clicks on the “check” button, the app will determine whether the price is within the permitted price range.
If the prices are unreasonable, users can file complaints directly via e-aduan on the result page.
At press time yesterday, the app was downloaded slightly over 300 times and gained a collective rating of 3.3 stars by 304 users.
The ministry’s operation centre will record and channel the complaints to the ministry’s state office and enforcement division at grassroots level so action can be taken under the Price Control Act and the Anti-Profiteering Act.
The operation centre runs 24 hours daily with 40 officers on duty to receive complaints by telephone, e-aduan and also via social media.
Consumers can also file complaints via the ministry’s hotline at 1-800-886-800 or 03-8882-6245 and 03-8882-6088.
The special anti-profiteering criminal courts in five zones — north, south, east, central, Sabah and Sarawak — set up to handle cases under the Price Control Act and the Anti-Profiteering Act, will also begin operations today.

Jap auntie nak tanya, tatau nak tanya mana, ni dalam berita kecoh pasal prepaid naik harga. Yg aunty kompius, aunty tgk kat maybank2u, yg rm10, jadi rm10.60. Dah tu??yg bakal kena tindakan patutnya telco la kan?bukan kedai2 yg jual prepaid. Ke camne?? |

Topup sekarang mempunyai cukai SST sebanyak 6%. Jadi apabila digantikan dengan Cukai Gst 6% maka tiada kenaikan akan berlaku.

Anta baju kt tailor..die Kate LPs 1 April semua upah Jahit naik lg rm20... Bole ke die caj gitu.. Katenyer harga brg naik la...gaji pekerja naik la..sewa kedai naik la...hmmmm
