Trapped on an overcrowded dinghy desperate Syrian refugees cheer as they reach Greek island of Kos

Refugees packed into an overcrowded dinghy wave and cheer as they land on the Greek island of Kos after surviving a perilous sea crossing.

They were among hundreds of migrants from Syria and Afghanistan who risked their lives travelling across the Aegean sea from Turkey.

While their future is still uncertain, one man fell to his knees after finally reaching the safety of dry land while a woman captured the moment with a selfie.

Earlier this month Italian police rescued 98 refugees, believed to be from Libya, after they had been adrift at sea for 12 days.

It came just weeks after hundreds of people were drowned when they migrant ship capsized in the Mediterranean.

The tragedy is now considered the worst migrant boat disaster since the Second World War.

And in April a packed migrant boat smashed into rocks when it reached the Greek island of Rhodes.

Just 100 people were pulled from the water and those who lost their lives included young children.

Record numbers of people are trying to flee to Europe from troubled parts of the world. More than 30,000 have made the crossing successfully this year.

Many come from war-torn Syria and Libya where they are fleeing civil war, Islamist fanatics and brutal criminal gangs.

Others hope to escape desperate poverty and violence in sub-Saharan African countries like Somalia, Senegal and Eritrea.

rasanya bukan nak masuk greece sangat kot...
kalau dapat masuk greece itu, kemungkinan nak dapat akses ke semua 27 negara schengen ada ....
