LONDON, July 30, 2015:

Royal Dutch Shell today said it plans to reduce its headcount by 6,500 this year owing to sliding oil prices and as it looks to complete a mega takeover.

“Today’s oil price downturn could last for several years, and Shell’s planning assumptions reflect today’s market realities,” the company said in a statement, adding that it anticipates “some 6,500 staff and direct contractor reductions in 2015″, from a total of nearly 100,000 employees.

Shell earlier this year unveiled a mega-takeover of British rival BG Group worth £47 billion (RM279.27 billion), as the two firms consolidate their positions in a sector slammed by the oil price slump.

Also today, Britain’s biggest domestic energy provider Centrica said it would reduce its workforce by a net 4,000 positions alongside a cost-cutting programme through to 2020.

Oil prices have plummeted by around half in value to around US$50 (RM190.20) a barrel since June last year because of the supply glut.

Shell today said “the company has to be resilient in today’s oil price environment, even though we see the potential for a return to a US$70-90 oil price band in the medium term”.

bertabah la sis...suami sis keje cimb ke?. dpt vss simpan duit tu cari kerja lain..gaji x besar x pe asalkn ada keje.nk bkk bisnes pon bhati2 zmn skrg nih.biz makanan ok lg..biz lain2 tu npk menurun.iols x blh hadam klu lps ni kita perlu bersaing dgn warga asing pulok untuk sesuap nasi.

sampai boleh  atau terpaks a berhentikan staffs ni?

kesian yg dok sara adik beradik atau anak saudara yg masih belajar sebab hal ni...ada setengah yg keje O&G sebab ni ...nak bantu sara...kesian i hope , it is okay to most .

migrate is the good decision now, by looking at our political and economic situation

kat FB ada group utk org malaysia nak berhijrah ke luar negara, try la search kat situ, yg i ada jumpa grup migrate ke NZ,mmg friendly org2 dlm tu,..

ada satu grup ni, : 'Jom New Zealand' , grup ni closed group, dalam tu u boleh interact dgn malaysians yg ada di NZ dari procedure imigresen, sampai la kedai runcit mana u sesuai utk beli brg dapur kat sana...

u try request dlu, i dulu request masuk, tak sampai sehari diorg approve....

Rasulullah pun seru umat dia berhijrah kpd yg lebih baik, mungkin jugak i akan ikut jejak langkah nak berhijrah ni, ekonomi makin teruk, tambah lagi I pun kerja sektor kewangan, 50/50 chances....

dorang aku buat phase by phase.. kawan i byk dh moved g company lain
tp dalam dok nak cut cost segala, ada pulak budget nak renovate gym
memang gempak la gym dorang, ala2 comercial gym giteww
