PESERTA Bersih 4.0 bertindak biadab dengan memijak gambar Perdana Menteri.
KUALA LUMPUR 30 Ogos - Biadab dan kotor! Itulah ke-simpulan yang boleh dibuat terhadap perhimpunan ha-ram Bersih 4.0 yang diadakan di sini, selama dua hari bermula semalam.
Pelbagai tingkah laku biadab ditunjukkan oleh peserta-peserta perhimpunan itu yang majoritinya terdiri daripada kaum Cina. Antaranya termasuklah berjudi, tidur di jalanan, menconteng jalan raya dan mempromosi perbuatan Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual dan Transgender (LGBT). Ada antara mereka tanpa mempedulikan undang-undang, turut berbaring di tengah-tengah jalan raya dan mengajar kanak-kanak untuk melakukan tindakan yang sama.
Tidak cukup dengan itu, terdapat peserta bertindak kurang ajar apabila memijak gambar Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dan Presiden Pas, Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang. Mereka juga turut membawa sepanduk-sepanduk yang tertera perkataan kesat terhadap pemimpin negara. Malah tidak terlepas menjadi sasaran maki-hamun peserta-peserta Bersih ialah Tun Dr.Mahathir Mohamad, walaupun bekas Perdana Menteri itu dua hari berturut-turut datang ke perhimpunan berkenaan.
Selain itu, kebiadaban peserta-peserta juga terserlah apabila mereka tidak mengendahkan arahan pihak berkuasa memberi laluan untuk persiapan terakhir sambutan Hari Kebangsaan 2015 esok, sebaliknya ada antara mereka merosakkan sebahagian daripada landskap di sekitar Dataran Merdeka. Seperti diduga, hari kedua perhimpunan itu hari ini terus menjadi medan kepada pemimpin-pe-mimpin pembangkang untuk mengecam kerajaan dan sekaligus melaksanakan agenda mereka untuk menghasut rakyat.
Walaupun tiada kekecohan be-r-laku, namun ia membuktikan bagai-mana biadabnya peserta-peserta per--him-punan tersebut melakukan apa sahaja mereka suka. Ia juga me-nunjukkan sikap toleransi pihak polis yang tidak menyuraikan perhimpunan haram sama sekali tidak dihargai. Persoalannya, apakah segala perbuatan itu direstui oleh penganjur yang kononnya menguar-uarkan pilihan raya bersih dan telus? Kenapakah mereka membiarkan sahaja perlakuan-perlakuan yang biadab tersebut berlaku? Siapakah akan bertanggungjawab terhadap segala kekotoran yang ditinggalkan oleh peserta-peserta perhimpunan berkenaan termasuk tindakan menconteng jalan raya?
Sebab itulah pelbagai pihak mendesak pihak berkuasa bertindak tegas terhadap penganjur dan pe-mimpin politik yang terlibat ke-rana ternyata perhimpunan haram ber-kenaan dijadikan gelanggang untuk sebahagian peserta-peserta melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan tidak bermoral.

As we strolled down an unusually quiet Kuala Lumpur street, something felt different, something had changed.
We stopped for a moment on the strangely quiet street. My friend, sensing my wonder, turned to me and asked, "So, what happened here?"
"Well, a bunch of people from all walks of life got together. Some important, some nobodies, but with a love of their country and with one purpose in their hearts. They put away their differences for a couple of days and got together to send a message.", I replied, trying to explain to a stranger from the outside, looking in.
"How many?"
"Some say 15,000 some say 250,000. Depends on which side of the spin you're on. And not just here, lots of places around the world." I said.
He continued,"What was the message?"
Thinking for a moment, I offered, "More clean elections, clean governments, the right to dissent and some other things. It got a bit muddled."
With a small look of disbelief on his face, he asked, "They don't have that now?".
I smiled a bit, "Depends on which side of the spin you're on."
Not giving up, my friend continued to wonder, "Will it make any difference?"
It took me a while to come up with the answer that would explain it best, "Not right away, Malaysians don't do things in a hurry. But they do things with conviction. In time, with luck, things will get better.
If nothing else, that's what Malaysian always have... Hope.
We walked in silence, a bit longer down the deserted street and finally he stopped again, looking ahead at the strangely empty downtown of Kuala Lumpur. "So... a quarter of a million people. But... this place doesn't have an empty bottle, no trash, no litter... nothing!
I turned, looking out into the darkening streets,
"That's what is all about... Bersih."

Pointless to woo back Chinese, Utusan editor tells BN

Senior news editor says the Bersih 4 rally over the weekend shows the majority of Chinese believe more in DAP, PKR and GHB for a clean government.

PETALING JAYA: The large turnout of members of the Chinese community over the weekend at Bersih 4’s rally shows that the ruling coalition of Barisan Nasional should give up working so hard to try and woo them back, said Zulkflee Bakar.
Writing in his column in Utusan Malaysia today, Malay Mail Online quoted the senior news editor as saying, “To BN, the illegal rally can be taken as a clear sign that any hopes the coalition has to garner support from the Chinese will not be attainable.”
While conceding that not every Chinese in the country backed the Opposition, he said it was clear that the majority did.
“We admit that not every Chinese is an opposition supporter but based on what has been happening, it is proven that the majority of that race continue to distance themselves from BN.
“They believe more in DAP that is helped by PKR and GHB. That’s why, there is no need to work so hard to get their support,” Zulkiflee advised politicians from BN.
The weekend rally although declared illegal by the police and Home Ministry saw an overwhelming turnout of Malaysians, made up mostly of Chinese members of the community, who took to the streets peacefully to demand for institutional reforms and the resignation of Prime Minister Najib Razak.
The highlight of the two-day event was however the appearance of former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, a harsh critic of Najib, who said he came not because he supported Bersih 4 per se but because he supported the people.
He too called for the resignation of Najib and for the truth behind the RM2.6 billion donation the PM maintains he received from the Middle East but which Mahathir does not believe is the case. |
