Bukit Lanjan assemblyman Elizabeth Wong reiterated that Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali was aware of Say No To DASH (SNTD)’s stand against the alignment passing through Mutiara Damansara and Damansara Perdana. "We have informed Azmin that the alignment would end at the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) He will make a decision after RTPJ2 is finalised," she said at the launch of Selangor Wellness Living Expo 2015 at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre yesterday..
SNTD spokesman Michelle Wong told The Malaysian Insider that Azmin should not wait until the RTPJ2 was finalised to make a decision on the matter.
"The DASH expressway, ending at the NKVE, is already in the RTPJ2. We don't see why he can't make a stand now," she said. Michelle also said that SNTD would continue to object to the DASH expressway passing through Mutiara Damansara and Damansara Perdana. "Azmin has said that he would respect the wishes of the residents. What we see is that the government is not consistent," she said. On September 24, The Malaysian Insider published a letter from SNTD which noted Azmin's clarification that the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) alignment had been mistakenly included in the Draft Selangor State Structure Plan (SSP) 2035 and that the project was cancelled. SNTD said it wanted to highlight Azmin’s promise that the last part of the proposed DASH expressway going through Mutiara Damansara and Damansara Perdana would not be included in the state’s development plans. The letter further stated that during a recent meeting with SNTD, Elizabeth had also confirmed that the DASH expressway alignment was not supposed to be in the draft SSP. However, subsequent to the meeting and after poring over the details of the draft, they found, to their dismay, that such was not the case. SNTD had wanted to know if the inclusion of the entire DASH expressway alignment, including the parts it objected to, in the draft was also a mistake. SNTD said the state government's excuses were getting tiresome and it reminded Azmin that last November’s Laporan Tinjauan Rancangan Struktur Negeri Selangor 2035 showed that all the highways – Kidex, DASH and the East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) – were part of the Selangor government’s development master plan. SNTD said that it was only after it had protested vehemently that Azmin had declared the Laporan Tinjauan to be a mistake, too, and that it was a part of the plan drawn up under the leadership of former menteri besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim. The group said the Selangor government had been caught time and again making such “mistakes” since 2012. It also noted that one of three conditions set by the state for highway concessionaires – public access to the concession agreement – was conspicuously missing from the Draft Selangor State Structure Plan 2035.
SNTD said the residents affected by the DASH and Kidex highways should be told why they had to play watchdog and why the elected representatives kept making empty promises and blaming others for mistakes. – September 27, 2015. - See more at: http://www.themalaysianinsider.c ... 092aA.1U92j48r.dpuf
