Winter storm hits Jerusalem Extreme weather hit Al- Quds/Jerusalem overnight. Residents woke up to 10 inches of snow in parts which has caused severe travel disruption.  Traffic ground to a halt, shops are closed in East Jerusalem.  The snow covered Dome of the Rock in the Old City of Jerusalem.  Jerusalem rooftops covered with snow with the Done of Rock and Mount of Olives in the background.  Children play with snowballs at the the Al Aqsa compound.  Two Jewish men walk through the Old City of Jerusalem in the snow.  Snow caps the hilltops around East Jerusalem.  Palestinian men have a snowball fight in occupied East Jerusalem.  Many trees were destroyed by the storm.  Snow ploughs are out by mid morning. All public transport is cancelled.  Damascus Gate in the Old City covered in snow.  The steps at Damascus Gate.  Palestinian boy wraps up warm in the Old City of Jerusalem.  Palestinian boy play with snowballs.  People wrapping up in the snow.  Palestinians in the Old City enjoy the snow.  A blanket of snow covered the city early this morning.  Israeli soldiers guard the settlements in the Old City.  Snow/sand buggies are used to patrol the Old City.  Palestinians clear the steps at Damascus Gate.  Some continue the snowball fights as the snow begins to melt.
