Though their romance (in bloom in Paris in June) didn't last, a Vaughn friend told PEOPLE, "She's changed Vince for the better," adding that their relationship was more than a rebound after Aniston's split from Brad Pitt in January 2005. "They met at a time when she needed someone to make her smile. He did a really good job of lifting her spirits."
