cn7....tak.doc pempuan...very famous la.i know kalau i say her name mesti org kata i yg mengader kot.she's like the most famous senior doc in APSH.but i think she's too pack with appoiment and patients sampai dia tak reti nak layan patient mcm kawan...gently i mean.
dr.ashar i tot ramai org kata dia ok....dr.marlik pon org kata very fatherly etc. etc.
tapi sy ni pemalu ngan dr lelaki.hahaha |

what i'm gonna tell you ni, is base on experience yer..sebab i takut those yang pro au natural all the way ni hentam i pulak, although i would suggest you discuss with your gynae...
and you can read thread pasal epidural ni nanti...
most gynaes would recommend you to take the epi if its your FIRST delivery (1st child). reason being is sebab, the first stage (delivery has 3 stages, the first is the longest, nanti u belajar kat antenatal class) can be very long...unlucky ones ada yang sampai 24 jam, but for first timers it can range between 6-12 hours... so imagine the contraction pain tu kan... nak kena bear that long. But remember that no one women is similar to the other, so if you think your pain threshold tinggi, then tahan la....
bila dahh anak ke 2 ke 3, birth canal dia dah ada/dah terbuka, sebab tu usually the subsequent delivery tu lebih cepat berbanding yang pertama.
i have to confess that i was those mothers who wanted all natural, meaning ni onduce, no gas no nothing.... but....when my contraction got more frequent (and hence more pain), and my opening was like 5cm time tu, i gave in & opted for epidural. Bare in mind that if you decide to take epidural when you're opening is 6 cm, they wont entertain because its too late already...
tey say penicillin is the best drug ever found but personally i think epi is the best! the moment the drug kicked in, i can just sit & talk & laugh with my husband...perut tetap ada contraction just that its not painful.
my friend kata, sesapa nak amik epi tu amik la, tapi cuba la rasa sikit kesakitan contraction tu so that we can value the pain our mothers dah go thru before us. epidural in our mothers time tersangatla jarang digunakan betul tak?
and, if boleh dont give in too early. among the side effect of epi is respiratory depression (for the baby). and kalau anesth silap cucuk masuk jarum can cause permanent nerve damage
i always ask patients to discuss their concerns with their gynae. the risks, benefits etc |

dr jemilah slalu bz kan....tula dengar dia bagus but slalu takde.huhu dulu first baby i amik dr ariza...she's the quiet type.tapi APSH should get more good gynaes kot...so takdela klinik dr fauziah slalu penuh and she have to entertain soooo many patients kan.she's human too...huhu |

Good review, cn7.. thanks a lot.. Actually this is my 2nd pregnancy. Yg 1st, lin bersalin sakit hanya 3 jam jer sbb masa admit dah buka 5 cm tu pun lin x perasan sbb syok shopping brg baby. Nak check up 39 weeks, terus kena admit, then lepas air ketuban dipecahkan 3 jam kemudian terus bersalin. Rasa sakit yang 3 jam tu yang x tahan, sampai bitau hubby, no more pregnant, yg ni 1st and last (2008).. tp skg dah mengandung lagi.. Itu yang lin rasa nak opt epidural tu.. Tp baca kat thread epidural, kesan tu mmg differ from one women to the other.. cuma terfikir sanggup x tanggung risiko (kalau -ve) dan adakah berbaloi.. |

oh ye ker...the last time i temankan my mum jumpa dia, she's quite chatty jugak... maybe you kena probe more question dengan dia.... but i pahamla, patients will be frustrated kalau doc tak communicate dengan diorang.
my colleague had 1 ecperience, dari the moment dia masuk till keluar, doctor tu tak pandang langsung muka dia. Just pandang notes or file depan dia...tanya soalan tapi mengadap kertas. Mana tak frust |

lyn...one day before i beranak ade check up doc.masa tu air ketuban kurang and dia seluk.takde bukaan lagi..tp time seluk tu i kejang n mengeras cam org gila..sampai doc ckp u ni elok amik epidural jela...mccmni pon tak tahan sakit.masa tu i pon mcm ok jela..agree.malam tu admit...kul 6 nurse nak masukkan induce tablet..dia seluk lagi dah bukak 3 cm lak.tak jadi masuk tablet..terus tolak ke labour room.mase tu pepagi agaknye..nurse tu pon tak cek kehape yg i sepatutnya amik epidural.....alih2 bila i ckp yg i sepatutnya amik epi...dia seluk lagi dah bukak 7cm.tak sempat ler na amik....dia ckp da tak boleh.iskk...cuma senior nurse tu ade cam bisik kat i la.dia cakap my back bone structure mcm tak sesuai nak amik epi.masa tu i sakit so i ignore jela..tp sampai skang i still ingat apa dia cakap tu...and i dunno what she really meant...and how she knows.
but...my backbone mmg ade prob.kedudukan dia senget sikit...and i kena careful ngan posture to avoid slip disc.so...kekadang i pk i mcm lega lak tak amik epi tu...just incase mmg ada kesan terhadap my bengkok backbone ni.hehehe... |

just incase mmg ada kesan terhadap my bengkok backbone ni.hehehe...
back bone you senget macam mana? i think what they meant is more of inserting the catheter, maybe it wont go straight to the intended sight, so the drug wont work for you |

cn7 : mungkin jugak...i think what she meant was epidural tak sesuai ngan postur i or something like that.takde dulu i penah jatuh tangga...so penah wat xray la...my backbone cam tak normal sikit.senget dari biasa...tak straight like others.tapi tak harmful..cuma i kena maintain a good posture in walking,sitting,lying.kalau salah sikit je....mulala sakit.

i had epidurals with 2 different anaesthetist. yg untuk first baby, had to lie down and merekot macam udang. pastuh ada sorang nurse tolong pegang in position. second baby, duduk atas katil, kaki ke bawah and bongkokkan badan jer. yang first epidural tuh anaesthetist otai buat, tak sakit pun sangat. yg second epidural sakit sikit sebab 2 kali kena cocok, yg initial jab tuh tak betul agak nyer, anaesthetist muda lagik... |

haha.. 6 gynae ya?? lin dah try 2, campur yang prince court ni akan jadi ke-3.. Act lin dah puas hati dgn yg 2nd skg, sbb dia sgt friendly dan ada chemistry.. tapi sangat x tahan menunggu selama 2 jam lebih.. kalau ada kes, kena tunggu lebih 3 jam.. x tahan... lin asal check-up jer beli buku, dah 2 kali check-up, 2 buku dah beli.. itu baru 16 weeks, pasni lagi 5 bulan mcm mana?? dah la lepas 7 bulan kena check up twice, then setiap minggu.. harap PCMC x buat lin suffer.. |

young not so young lah, dah 34 dah nii kawen lambat, dpt anak pon lambat
anyway, i still thank Allah (Alhamdullillah) for everything He has planned for me
pregnant yg 2nd ni pon Alhamdullillah syukur sgt2x dpt lagi peluang utk pregnant
fibroid tu i tak monitor
tapi masa gi scan last week to confirm pregnancy mmg nampak 2 bijik kat atas rahim (outside the womb)
size dia tak besar
my gynae ckp kalau dlm rahim lagi bahaya sbb dia nak rebut nutrien from baby kan
yg kat bawah tu tak nampak plak (dulu nampak bila buat vaginal scan)
penah tny Dr. Seri before czer last time boleh tak buang fibroid tu masa czer nnt
she said she tak berani takut can cause tumpah darah
kene buat separate operation pulak
i was thinking if there's other way to kecutkan fibroid tapi kalau dah mmg takde and tak kacau biar jelah
my mom ada cyst but dah removed long time ago |

Calla, lin pun sama.. husband yg petronas.. lin tumpang husband jer la sbb lin gomen.. nak pergi hospital serdang jer tp hubby ckp pakai medical benefit dia.. So, walaupun ada complaint tp tetap rasa beruntung dan bersyukur.. |

i tak pernah amik epilast delivery amik spinal coz czer kan
tapi cucuk tempat sama tpt epi jugak
beza spinal last for 4-5hrs
epi continously kan and you can adjust the level of epi that you want
i dah mmg ada sakit pinggang pon
lepas bersalin pon kdg rasa sakit pinggang jugak
i rasa ok jer amik epi ni |
