Ex Machina is a 2014 science fiction psychological thriller film written and directed by Alex Garland (in his directorial debut) and stars Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, and Oscar Isaac. The film follows a programmer who is invited by his CEO to administer the Turing test to an intelligent humanoid robot.

Made on a budget of $15 million, the film grossed $36 million worldwide.

The National Board of Review recognized it as one of the ten best independent films of the year and the 88th Academy Awards honored the film with the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, for artists Andrew Whitehurst, Paul Norris, Mark Williams Ardington and Sara Bennett. Garland was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, while Vikander's performance earned her Golden Globe Award, BAFTA Award, Empire Award and Saturn Award nominations, plus several film critic award wins, for Best Supporting Actress. The film was further nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best British Film, and the Hugo Award in the category Best Dramatic Presentation – Long Form.

Pd u all yg minat Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell,AI confirm akan suke movie ni. Mmg slow pace but with full anticipation..Plot ade twist 2,3 kali and the ending was WICKED!!..uhuhuh...manja pun x dpt nak predict...

Basicly part awal mmg ke tiga2 watak utama ni nampak mcm normal & experimen yg  nak dikaji tentang subconsious Ava tu mmg menarik...., tp rupenye2 they all ending up manipulating each other utk kepentingan masing2...

Bandingkan dgn movie AI lain approach movie ni  pd manja guna konsep "Less is More "...without all the colourful neon lights, synthesizer background music ..slick futuristic costumes, fancy cars, guns, gadgets and explotions.. ..A film that encourgaes u to think out of the box..Pd manja jalan cerita ni xde la berat..or too dramatic..it's ALL GOOD!..

Plus ade jgk terselit scene2 lawak..watak Oscar Isaac mmg kelakar...

ade 1 dokumentari tu rsnye tahun 80an kot..pertama kali dlm sejarah AI lawa the best chess player in the world...
AI menang u ..that was like 30 or 40 years ago...

so bleh imagine la tahap kecerdikan AI zaman skrg ni..even smartphone is an AI...and kite as humans x dpt hidup tanpa smartphone masing2 kan? sape yg perlukan sape skrg ni?

Masalah yg semakin menghantui manusia sejagat especially sejak perkembangan teknologi komunikasi aka internet & smartphone ialah kesunyian..

Loneliness ni suatu topik yg dah lame wujud dlm masyarakat tp sgt jarang di beri perhatian.

Manusia sgt fragile. AI pulak dah semakin maju & bijak , pandai utk bersifat empati..berkomunikasi & memahami kekosongan / loneliness yg dialami manusia, suatu yg menyakitkan & tiada penghujung.

My point is even now dah ade apps percume yg bleh bantu dlm masalah mental seperti depression & anxiety..

Skrg ni permulaan era ke fasa filem Her..
