Enma Ai as Girl from Hell
Enma Ai is the carrier of death for the victims of revenge. Seemingly emotionless early on in the series, she is partial to neither the victim nor contractor. She lays the consequences of her contract down openly, showing no compassion no matter how appalling her contractor抯 enemy may be. Her job is done frigidly and never with any exceptions, though later on, we catch glimpses of her empathy . Ai抯 character is based off the Japanese god of death, Enma-o, a semi-derivative of the Indian God, Yama. Her special abilites seem to include traveling between hell and the real world, invoking her victim's fears, replaying past scenes, and ferring off humans to hell.
Icimoku as 1 of her partner or helpers
The most "modern-looking" of her helpers, Ichimoku Ren serves as the investigator. He seems to posess a nonchalent type of attitude, easily blending into the society of young adults and teenagers. His character is based off Ichimokuren, the one-eyed Japanese god of rain. Suprisingly enough, his special ability is his all-seeing eye, a hidden eye atop his head that can be transposed anywhere.
Hone Ona partner gaks
Appearing as an alluring woman, Honne-Onna serves her purpose as the seductress of the trio. Her ability to change her form at will allows her to play a part in each act of vengeance---leading the victim on until Ai performs her job or taunting them with either words or torture. Her name literally means "Bone Woman," for though she appears as a woman of flesh, she is just a skeleton.
Wanyuudo partner gaks
Wanyuudo is the helper you tend to see most throughout the series. He takes the form of the doll given to those who wish to seek revenge. As the person receives a final choice to whether he or she wishes to agree to the contract. The pulling of the string that around Wanyuudo's doll form is what signifies the completion of the deal. He also serves as the wheels upon the chariot Ai uses to meet the victim. In my opinion, I see him as the adult confident that watches the most after Ai.
