The tattoo show aims to bring together foreign groups such as military forces to congregate harmoniously in Kuala Lumpur. The three-night event features displays of precision marching and military demonstrations for four hours every night. [size=-1]Inconjunction with 50 years of independence and Visit Malaysia Year 2007the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) in collaboration with the Ministry ofTourism will co-host the KL International Tattoo Show. This tattoo willbe an evening performance of military band music and cultural acts fromacross the world. The event will be held at the Merdeka Stadium, thebirth place of our nation's independence.
  Merdeka Stadium wasinitially erected for Malaysia's declaration of independence on 31August 1957. It was here on 31 August, 1957 that power was transferredfrom the British Empire to the newly independent Malayan government.The stadium is an important part of Malaysia's history and in February2003, Merdeka Stadium was named a national heritage building.
  TheKL International Tattoo Show 2007 will run on 3 consecutive evenings,commencing from 7 September 2007. The evening will showcase militarybands from Jordan, Brunei, France, India, United States, the Republicof the Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand,Korea, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, pipes and drums from theUnited Kingdom and a Maori cultural group from New Zealand.
  The military band from the Malaysian Armed Forces and RoyalMalaysian Police, the 'Wira Kris' from the Royal Malaysian Army, thesilent drill from the Royal Malaysian Navy and the rhythmic gymnasticsfrom the Royal Malaysian Air Force will be leading the performances onthe three nights. The highlight of the show will be a Grand Finale bythe massed bands of all participants combining to perform a speciallyarranged musical score with a synchronised fireworks display whichshould make it a night to remember
