Islam & Negara Sekular

dari Nigeria to Indonesia, Sudanese law professor(Abdullahi Ahmed an-Naim) menyebarkan idea berkaitan negara sekular dan hak asasi manusia

some quote

"Naim's personal project involves what he calls "negotiating the future of sharia." As Islamic societies struggle to define themselves in a globalized world and some talk of creating Islamic states to codify sharia, he says the state and religion must be kept separate. But religion should still have its place in political life, allowing Muslims to express principles of sharia as they see fit. He believes this is truly Islamic, and that articulating the reasons why will help ordinary Muslims not be taken in by political slogans."

sape boleh baca english gi malaysia today for full news. http://www.malaysia-today.net/2008/content/view/5380/84/

dia juga mengatakan no such things as 'negara Islam'. ianya hanya perbincangan post-colonial dari barat. Isn't true? kawan2 yg bijak pandai, please bgtau sy macam mana Rasullullah berpolitik. sy kurang arif.

kalau kita seperatekan agama dgn state, org yg mentadbir tuh dia tinggalkan agamanya dirumah. jadi dia mentadbir dgn apa?

dlm perniagaan riba dihalalkan..

tapi bukan ilmu agama sebaliknya ilmu duniawi..

ish ish

term secular ni pun mmg dah biberikan utk mereka yang cenderung kepada perkara tangible dan menolak hal ghaib. dominasi agama dalam satu negara tu menentukan macam mana negara ditadbir.

kalau agama dipisahkan dari politik, comno politician tu nak tahan diri dari rasuah?
takkan nak bergantung kepada cctv kot.
aku risau penceramah macam Abdullahi Ahmed an-Naim ni. sbb dia sendiri muslim, meng attributekan pandangan dia sbg pandangan collective.
banyaknya fitnah terhadap Islam..... sedih aku

aku nk petik skit artikel menarik ni tentang sekular dr pandangan seorang ahli agama..

Secularism does not mean a curse for religions. In certain cases, secularism can even be the savior of a minority religion. For instance in France, due to secularism, Islam and Muslim society can develop. Because secularism upholds neutrality in regulating social-politicalfield of the state, any religion and its society are allowed to express their religion naturally. Therefore, their religious identity is not threatened.

To know how the Muslim community adjusts in a state upholding secularist values like France, Novriantoni from the Liberal Islam Network (JIL) interviewed Soheib Bencheikh, Grand Mufti of Marseille France.

JIL: Many muslim have a negative image about secularism. Could you imagine that there will be harmonization between Islam and secularism?

Bencheikh: If secularismis interpreted as state neutrality to regulate a country, it will not be a problem for Muslims. On the contrary, the separation between religion and politics will clarify Islam as a divine spiritual doctrine, not as an instrument which (can) be misused to gain the power. Moreover, due to that, Islam can return its original formulation, meaning it will return as the promoted teaching (“ yu’radl ” not as a forced teaching (“ yufradl ” – as the Koran affirms – “Anyone who will believe may believe, and anyone who will be an infidel may be an infidel!”
