Hi All

Lets share anything about organic foods here....

so far rimbun try to beralih arah dr normal food kat market tuh to organic food.. for healthy living. but mcm agak susah jugak nak dapatkan organic food niii... yg biaser rimbun guna adalah produk Azzain untuk ayam n daging (bukan promosi eks..) yg mana tak banyak stokisnyer (limited area) nak tau ler kalau2 ada supplier lain yg bekalkan the same product, yg lebih senang nak beli.  Sayur2 plak kebanyakannyer kat hypermarket jer.. jarang ada kat small market niii.. emm kalau uol ada experience pasal ni... share share le yee

I try to buy organic as much as possible - vegetables, chicken and dried goods.  Usually can get most of the stuff at supermarkets/hypermarkets except for chicken.  Ni kena cari sendiri kat kedai kecik - ayam kampung.  

The only thing is trauma sikit with the organic vegetables.  Usually ada creepy crawlies - especially cauliflower.  

Another thing, some organic food tak sedap.  Eg. organic pasta - tak sedap no matter how I make the sauce to mask the horrid taste.  End up kena mix dengan pasta biasa.  Same thing goes for organic rice (brown rice).  Also tak sedap.  So I mix it with white rice.  At least dapat khasiat sikit from organic produce if not all.

kalau beras tuh rimbun tak pernah guna brown rice, tp guna beras phakakene (betul ke idok ejaannyer, satu lg yg brown rice tuh somakene)... beras ni lebih sedap n wangi jer.. wangi yg naturally as compared to beras wangi thai tuh.

Anita, which hypermarket yg jual vege tuh eks? rimbun selalu g c4 wangsa maju but limited ler.. kekadang ada, most of the time takde. but klau barang2 kering tuh mmg banyak jugaklerr

My usual haunting ground for organic food is Jusco 1 Utama or Ikano's Cold Storage.  

The selection there is alright.  Yang tak tahan - some of the stuff mahal sangat.  Imagine 2 carrots for RM4!  Ridiculous sungguh.  I'm trying to be a better mum by giving my kids good food but the pricing of organic food is crazy!  Actually, not just a better mum, also trying to save planet earth from the devastating consequences of mass-farming.  

It would be great if the pricing of organic food is almost equivalent to mass-farming produce.  

For now, my organic food consumption is mostly limited to vegetables, sugar, salt and rice.  I still consume processed stuff - pasta sauces etc.

Tadi I ternampak 'fresh pasteurized eggs - Korean technology' kat Jusco 1 Utama.  The eggs were in a special fridge.  Tak ada pulak any leaflet explaining what the heck those eggs were.  4 eggs for RM7.99 (if I remember correctly).

Beras phakakene ni warna apa?  Putih ke brown?  Kalau makan brown rice je gerenti boleh slim.  Sebab tak sedap!  

Boleh try cari next time I go shopping.

beras phakakenei ni warna putih.. satu lg yg the same brand namanyer somakenei... ni brown rice. beras dr cambodia if not mistaken..

kalau brown rice, i will only eat local brown rice - beras dr pendalaman sarawak... tapi mmg sedap n wangi. normally bila balik kg, MIL akan bekalkan 2 3 kilo brown rice niii... buat bubur pon best tp tak leh simpan lama, cepat di makan bubuk

when we go for organics means we need to double up our budget   tu yg tak tahan tuh
but alternatively... bila rimbun balik kampung, rimbun akan kutip sebanyak mungkin sayur2 kat kg tuh n keringkan (bungkus dlm old news paper n masukan dlm peti sejuk)... normally mcm daun pandan, daun kari etc... the taste is still maintain n bole ler tahan sampai 2 bulan. tuh mmg trusted organic product

last week beli soya organic... mmg sedap dan rasa air dia mcm lemak2 skit..

rendam 3 jam dulu then masak soya tu .....
