Ara Damansara folk tired of din caused by ambulance service in their midst
THE sound of ambulances accelerating in and out has become the norm for those living in Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya.
Ara Idaman Residents Association (RA) chairman Albert Lau, 67, said it was not right for businesses to operate from a terrace house in the gated-and-guarded enclave, worse still an ambulance service.
“Residents living along Jalan PJU 1A/28B are the worst affected as it is a cul-de-sac.
“They have observed ambulances being parked in a haphazard manner close to the road median.
“This makes it difficult for immediate neighbours of the business to drive in or out of their houses,” he added.
Lau said residents had lodged complaints with Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) but no action had been taken.
Another resident, Lee Chee Ming, said the ambulance service began in early 2019 and the frequency of vehicles driving in and out of the neighbourhood using Jalan PJU 1A/28B, PJU 1A/28, PJU1A/22 before exiting into the main road of PJU 1A/20 had increased.
“We are finding it harder to cope with the din.
“As they drive out in a rush, there is a loud grinding noise as the ambulances accelerate,” he said.
Lee said in the beginning, it was the blaring sirens and flashing lights but after being told numerous times, the drivers turn on the siren and flashing lights only upon reaching the main road.
“The sound of stretchers being loaded and doors being slammed has become a bane.
“Recently, the littering of personal protective equipment, especially masks and breathing tube apparatus, can be seen on Jalan PJU 1A/28B, outside the residence that houses the ambulance service,” he said.
Lau reiterated that allowing an ambulance service to operate from a residential area was wrong and wanted MBPJ to take action.

dan biasa aku tgk polis, ambulance masuk kawasan rumah dorang tutup siren, pasang lampu sahaja. cuma ada sekali tu nampak polis kejar dlm kawasan rumah, dia on la siren |

Mesti azab dan sengsara penduduk di situ. Patutnya ambulans2 ni dipindahkan ke kawasan komersil je. |

Tujuan bunyi siren & lampu tu utk alert pengguna jlnraya supaya bagi laluan kan? X silap iols driver ambulan ni x blh suka suki bunyikan siren klau xde pesakit kt dlm van , blh kena kompaun |
