PIKOM  Digital Lifestyle 2012

The PIKOM Digital Lifestyle Expo 2012, an annual technology showcase of latest trends, lifestyle gadgets and applications that can enrich users’ lifestyle, will be held from 7 – 9 September at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, 11am – 9pm.  DLE will be launched in conjunction with the National ICT month this September and alongside the event, PIKOM will also be hosting the World Cyber Games (WCG) Asian Championship 2012.  WCG Asian Championship will bring together world-class players from 9 other countries to compete for the Championship cup in Malaysia.  

DLE will feature exciting products and services from the following segments:
1.       Games,
2.       Consumer Electronics, 3D TV/LED, AV & Home Entertainment,
3.       ICT, Multimedia & Devices
4.       DCIM (Digital Camera, Imaging and Media),
5.       e-Government Solutions, e-Commerce & software solutions; and
6.       Mobile, Social Network and Mobile Applications

There will be participation from overseas’ exhibitors to showcase their latest products and services to visitors.  Visitors may also get to purchase exciting gadgets or products whilst gaining knowledge on latest trends and “how-to” tips.  For purchases of minimum RM100 (accumulated receipts are acceptable), visitors will get an entry for lucky draw.  Lucky draw sessions will be held at 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm daily.  Attractive prizes, such as, netbook, GPS, speakers, digital photo frame, thumb drives, power tube and others.  For more information, please log on to www.pikom.my.

Kuala Lumpur, 7th September 2012 – As the industry association, PIKOM works tirelessly to strengthen and support efforts to not only increase growth of domestic ICT products and services, but also to promote businesses, both SMEs and large corporations, to better reach out to customers, domestically as well as globally.

The National ICT Month (NIM) 2012 marks the fourth consecutive year that PIKOM and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) have joined forces to organize the month-long event with the objective of further enhancing the business climate of the local information and communications technology (ICT) industry, as well as increasing the usage of ICT products and services.

This year’s National ICT Month highlights a series of events with the theme "Innovation for Digital Opportunity” (September 7 – October 11, 2012). With all the events that have been lined up in conjunction with the NIM 2012, PIKOM hopes that the ICT industry will help to propel the country’s economy to a greater level. The month-long IT celebration started fabulously with PC Fair 2012 in Tawau.

NIM 2012 was officially launched on 7th September 2012 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, which also marked the official launches of World Cyber Games (WCG) Asian Championship 2012 and Digital Lifestyle Expo (DLE) 2012, a technology showcase of the latest trends, lifestyle gadgets and applications.

The world's first "Cyber Games Festival", World Cyber Games (WCG) Asian Championship 2012 will be held from 7th – 9th September at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This is the first year that the Asian Championship is being held in Malaysia, and 600 Malaysian gamers are expected to participate and challenge themselves to win the national championship title.

The highlight of the NIM 2012 would be the Leadership Summit 2012, where top-notch leaders from ICT segments will meet, discuss and review the current state of the industry. Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili; as well as Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC) Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, will be gracing this event as featured speakers. The key highlight of the summit is the launch of PIKOM’s flagship research report on the ICT industry in Malaysia –ICT Strategic Review 2012/ 2013.

Another note-worthy event is the two-day Smart Sourcing Summit 2012 which will be held on 10 – 11 October at Royale Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Themed “Leapfrogging Competition: From Local to Global”, the focus this year is on providing a platform to address current industry issues, enhance visibility and showcase services of Malaysian service providers, plus providing business-to-business networking opportunities. The event is being held in conjunction with the OM Excellence Awards which is being presented to companies in Malaysia for creating compelling value, thereby enhancing Malaysia's position in the global sourcing marketplace.
