Kuala Lumpur, 15 March 2013 - Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn. Bhd. (ETCM) was the official car sponsor for the Future Music Festival Asia 2013 (FMFA 2013), Southeast Asia’s largest music festival. Acting as the official opening event for the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix this year.
ETCM had the privilege to showcase its best-selling global sedan, the Nissan ALMERA; Nissan X-GEAR and the all-electric zero-emission Nissan LEAF at one of the largest music festival to ever grace Southeast Asia. Nissan vehicles were used to chauffer celebrities back and forth from their waiting rooms to the stage performance area situated within the vicinity of the Sepang International Circuit.
“It has given us great honour to be part of this award- winning music festival especially in support of the government’s initiative to promote the tourism industry in Malaysia,” said Dato’ Dr Ang Bong Beng, Executive Director of Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn. Bhd.
In conjunction with this music festival, ETCM gave-away 15 pairs of FMFA 2013 tickets to the lucky Nissan fans that had participated in the Nissan Facebook contest. All they had to do was just to craft the most creative post with the word “Nissan LEAF” & “Future”.
This award-winning festival would be set to become one of the most expensive music events to be held in the country, with a production cost of almost RM10 million, which delivered the most exciting musical offering across various genres.In March 2012, this music festival thrilled crowds of over 25,000. For the second time around, over 40,000 fans locally and from abroad converged at the Sepang International Circuit for two-days to catch a glimpse of well-known favourites like PSY, Rita Ora, Fun., The Prodigy, Armin Van Buuren, and over 40 other international, regional and local acts.
Organized by Future Entertainment Australia and Livescape Asia Sdn. Bhd., FMFA 2013 was part of an initiative to kick-start the promotional campaign of Visit Malaysia Year 2014 with a bang. The festival was a huge tourism magnet which drew fans from neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and countries from as far as Australia, India and even Europe.
