Job Description | Server Admin Services position is responsible for monitoring, controlling and operating complex of server operation (AIX/Unix/Linux) that run in complex applications and/or distributed systems in a multi vendor environment. Typical roles/positions include, but are not limited to, the following: |
| 1. 1st level and 2nd Level servers problem determination |
| 2. Skill on operating system function and system process functionility |
| 3. Knowledgeable in resource performance handling and tuning |
| 4. Security administration |
Key responsibilities | The major responsibilities of Server Admin (AIX/Unix/Linux) include: |
| analyzing first level problems for all systems (according to the service agreements), resolving or routing to next level support as appropriate |
| supporting the Application Management Processes specific to customer requirements |
| performs a variety of tasks or processes following established procedures or practices within others services tower |
| uses judgment in choosing task/routine. |
| assumes additional responsibilities as assigned |
Primary Skills required | Technical Skill in AIX/Unix server operating system, Middleware as priority for Java and Websphere base web application. Be able to advise diagnose on next of technical trouble shooting approach base on client IT environments. |
Secondary “Good to have” skills | Storage Skill eg IBM SAN Storage / EMC / HP EVA |
