Genting Highlands, 12 June 2014 – The nerve racking wait for the highly anticipated World Cup event is finally here as starting tomorrow, fans of the game will cast themselves into sleepless nights supporting the game they love. Over at Resorts World Genting, more can be said as we witness the kick off to a heated football fever mood with the appearance of Robbie Fowler, Liverpool FC’s legend. He greeted his fans with utmost enthusiasm at the Times Square Stage, First World Plaza today.

“Robbie is a true icon in the football scene and we are proud to have him here again as the official ambassador of the Game on At Genting 2014 – Carnival De Janeiro event. Resorts World Genting is honored to have a legend such as himself to give live commentaries for the opening and closing match of the World Cup 2014 that will be happening tomorrow at the Genting International Showroom”, said Mr. Kevin Tann, the Vice President of Promotions & Entertainment Department, Resorts World Genting during the press conference.

Many football fans were spotted surrounding Robbie to have a quick snap of picture with him. The meet the fans session ended with Robbie having an interactive game session with approximately 40 underprivileged children from the Shepherd's Centre Foundation at the Football Village located at Universal Walk, First World Plaza.

The Football Village is opened for nearly a month, namely 12 June to 13 July 2014, offering a string of interactive football related games and activities for football fanatics. Fans will be able to put their skill to test and stand a chance to walk away with merchandises by taking part in these interactive games during this period. The operation hours of Football Village are from 10am to 12 midnight daily.

For those who could not make it on time to meet Robbie Fowler today, head over to the Genting International Showroom for the live screening of the opening match of the World Cup between Brazil and Croatia on 13 June 2014. Catch Robbie Fowler as he gives live commentary before the kick off and during half-time. You can also join us and Robbie on the final match day happening on 14 July 2014 where the winner of the ongoing Carnival De Janeiro contest for the brand new Honda Accord 2.0 VTi-L car will also be announced. Patrons who have participated in the contest held from 1 April to 24 June 2014 are most welcome to join in the cheer at the final game with the anxiety of waiting for the result announcement.
