MANILA, Philippines - The Sultanate of Sulu on Thursday declared a unilateral ceasefire on the hosti ... The official also hoped the Malaysian and Philippine governments as well as the Kiram clan would allow international assistance into the area.
"He urges all parties to facilitate delivery of humanitarian assistance and act in full respect of international human rights norms and standards," the UN said.

PBB dah mula campur tangan, Malaysia ditekan hebat
KUALA LUMPUR: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has called for an end to violence and the start of a dialogue to end the conflict in Sabah between Malaysian forces and followers of the Sulu sultanate.A statement posted on the UN website said Ban was closely monitoring the situation and had expressed concern over the impact of the violence on civilians and migrants in the area.
“(The Secretary-General) urges all parties to facilitate delivery of humanitarian assistance and act in full respect of international human rights norms and standards,” the statement said.
Early last month, followers of the sultanate, led by their crown prince, Raja Muda Agbimuddin Kiram, sailed to Sabah to press their claim to the territory.
After a lengthy standoff, violence erupted last week and, despite a massive assault mounted by Malaysian forces Tuesday, shows no signs of having ended with the fighting having killed at least 40 people from both sides.
Although the Philippines has deployed a ship with medical personnel and humanitarian relief, it has not been allowed to dock on Sabah.
Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III had earlier called on the UN to intervene in the conflict.
Have face to face meeting to end standoff
In another development, foomer president Fidel Ramos has called on President Benigno Aquino to meet the Sultan Jamalul Kiram face to face and end the Sabah standoff.
“The two principals should meet one on one, just the two of them, face to face,” Ramos said in a press conference at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, shortly before he left for a business trip to Taiwan.
Ramos said the National Security Council and a full Cabinet meeting should have been convened as soon as the crisis ensued, although he said he respected Aquino’s actions.
In the meeting, Ramos said, Aquino should secure a pledge from Kiram to be allowed to represent the sultanate in talks with Malaysia regarding the Sabah claim and in turn, Aquino should vow to do a “good job” representing the sultanate.
Ramos said that his administration did not give up the Sabah claim.
“We did not abandon the claim. But you must put it in the backburner because you must prioritise the issues you want to attend to. But that does not mean you put the loss of lives in the back burner,” he explained.
If he were Aquino, Ramos said, he also would tell Kiram to stop sending forces to Sabah to save them from death at the hands of Malaysian troops.
To Kiram and other claimants, Ramos said his message is: “[Sending forces there] is creating violence. The world is now different from what it was in the 19th century when the transfers of sovereignty, ownership and rights took place. Do you want the young people to experience war?”
“I think the message of the sultanate has been received by the world. What happened (violence) is enough,” he said.
He also said he disagreed with pronouncements that the sultan’s troops who went to Sabah should be considered terrorists and charged criminally, adding that these should be talked about first in the dialogue.
Afterward, Aquino should meet the leader of Malaysia to present what was agreed upon in the meeting, Ramos said.

aku pernah tengok video militan selatan thai sembelih askar siam. dlm video tu, siap diorg heret askar nyawa2 ikan tu masuk dlm belukar, ada firefight, maybe kena hambat dgn askar2 siam yg lain. pastu bila keadaan mcm dh clear skit, baru diorg sambung sembelih askar tu, pastu pegang kepala askar tu sambil ckp2 apebenda ntah x ingat, mcm ayat perjuangan menentang kekejaman gitu la, dlm slang melayu siam (mcm slang klate skit). aku tengok video ni kat hp kwn aku org klate, tp die sendiri pun xbape paham slang dlm video tu.
memandangkan geng2 kiram ni suka xploit gmbr mayat2 askar siam, so aku speku ini lah videonya. harap2 aku betul... ke bukan video ni??? |
