Heavy snow fell across Oklahoma Sunday morning as a winter storm moved into the state. A winter storm warning is now in effect for parts of the state, including the Oklahoma City metro.
According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, as of Sunday afternoon, crews are reporting slushy, slick conditions on highways across much of the state, including on interstates.
Salt, sand and plowing operations continue to clear roadways before freezing begins in the evening hours, officials said. Rainy conditions persist in southeast Oklahoma, and temperatures remain low, which could lead to slick conditions developing quickly.
