Sejarah ringkas pasal ka'bah adalah satu tmpat dimana semua muslim di seluruh dunia harus menghala kepadanya apabila bersembahyang. Ia dibina oleh Ibrahim dan Ismail dengan bantuan wahyu (pertolongan) daripada Allah.

Ka'bah is the symbol of unity worship for the muslims. All muslim around the world must face to it when perform a solat or pray. The ka'bah is a cube shape built with stone located center of the earth surface. Because of the ecliptica and the rotation of earth, the sun covers the area that is located at 23.5 NL and 23.5 SL. The sun will be NEARLY on top at the area that falls in the lattitute mentioned twice a year. Because Mecca (Masjidil Haram, where Ka'bah located) have the location of 21 degree 26' NL, (center of globe), that means it is located in the area of 23.5 NL and 23.5SL, so the sun will be EXACTLY on top of Ka'bah twice a year. The next date where the sun will be exactly on top of the Ka'bah is 16th July 2006, time 5.28pm. This phenomena is called "istiwa utama" or "istiwa A'zam", where the sun will be EXACTLY on top of the ka'bah twice a year.

So let me tell you how ancient muslims around the arabs able to find the accurate and exactly direction that facing to the Ka'bah when they pray. This Ka'bah direction is called the direction of Qiblat.

When the phenomena of "istiwa utama" occurs, the shadow of any vertical object at other places will face to the direction of the Ka'bah. Ancient muslims use this traditional way to check and find the correct direction of Qiblat to perform their pray. They will be using a long stick and locate vertically on the ground, and when the stated date (for example, this year is 16th July 2006, 5.28pm) and time happens, the shadow will falls ACCURATELY and EXACTLY on the direction of Qiblat.

Just only for praying, muslims able to know alot of knowledge and applications. They also use the Astrolabe Quadrant with the aid of sunlight, trigonometry calculation that discovered by al- Biruni during 9th century, they managed to find the direction of Ka'bah. So indirectly, Islam is not only a religion that teach to pray, but it is a religion and way of life. Only praying they have found many knowledge such as finding the direction of ka'bah relates to mathematical calculations, building of kabaa in the centre of globe etc.

i think the title is misleading. Ka'bah tidak terletak di tengah-tengah bumi, unless it's located at the center of the inner core of the earth.
