my take;
investment is a about using some form of resources (wisely hopefully) with the expectation of getting a return. resources can be money, strength, time etc and returns can be in numerous form as well. not necessarily monetary.
gambling is risking money usually by making wager on the outcome of an event in which the outcome of that event depends partially or totally upon chance. |

An investor is someone who carefully analyses an investment, decides exactly what it is worth.
An investor make his decision based on facts and actual data. This is called investment.
Gamblers are speculators who buy stocks based on chance, luck and emotion. They buy due to the particular stocks are experiencing greater than normal interest because of rumours. |

nowadays, everyone here is comparing gambling and investing and to be honest, it's not really comparable.for the most part, gambling is a zero sum game.meaning if you lose money, someone else will gain that exact amount.investing is not a zero sum game.
gambling you leave the odds to the house with the odds completely against you.investing is about educated decisions.investing does not automatically guarantee a return.with investing you can research as much as you want to give you an advantage.with gambling it's all luck, and the tauke is always in the advantage. |

Why is it gambling?
gambling is the wagering of money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and material goods.gambling is blindly throwing your money at something with poor odds that you might get a return of some sort.to me gambling has a record of constant and growing losses, when you lose in gambling you lose the pot. |

I think everything that theoretically can be profitable is a way of making money, even gambling. |

I’ve been looking into options for residency in different countries and recently got quite interested in Malta’s program. The idea of obtaining Malta residence by real estate investment seemed like a smart move, especially considering how stable the Maltese property market is. You need to invest a minimum amount in real estate, and it also grants you access to Schengen countries, which is a big bonus. I actually reached out to a consultancy that specializes in these residency programs. They walked me through the whole process, from picking the right property that fits the criteria to handling the paperwork. The investment amount can vary depending on the location within Malta, and they helped clarify how much I’d need to put down. It’s a relatively straightforward process, though there’s a bit of waiting involved due to background checks. What’s great about this is that you don’t even need to live in Malta full-time to maintain the residency. Just a few days a year are enough to keep your status active. This flexibility really sold me on the idea, along with the country’s lifestyle and proximity to other European destinations. |
