hami o hami...
A hunger is satisfied
When I remember
To remember myself,
To come back to my heart.
Whether you know it or not....
That, might be the essence of this teaching. |

we do what we do because we have to do it otherwise why we did not do what we have to do will be questionable.. |

Kalau berdasarkan pemerhatian yang tak saintifik macam inborn...
Tapi kesan persekitaran 'upbringing' dan indoktrinasi pun banyak jugak...
Sukar nak bezakan...
Personality vs indoctrination
nak bezakan, well just look at these two personalties : Nik Aziz of kelantan and Hadi Wang from 'tganu. They belong to one political party ( so, this would delineate the effect of "indoctrination" ) .However, one is more cautious, slow and seady in terms of his approach quite an introvert really. The other personality is quite extroverted, quite strong in venting his view, opinions etc, kan? why then you asked. This is what the personality traits dictate. It is their approach to solve a particular issues that would strongly indicate their personality traits.
Another examples: Pak Lah and Che Det ( Dr M) : you probably able to see the differences, one is keen on having a "diplomatic" approach in dealing with challenges/ issues, while the other one is just brilliantly smashing someone with style( i lurve this someone).
Another one is : I dunno Mao Ze Dong and the current President lah kot.
so, you see, the way they think, act, behave would indicate that personality is a stable "entity"/ characteristic that makes up a person.
anyway , upbringing does play a major role jugak lah. Ni true.

Well hunger could be construed as desire. When we come to our original essence, our beingness then all desire will be dissolve. Because it is us. We already get it. Everything. |

So there's a core trait and environmental extension...
Two person might grow in the same environment but have totally different personalities. |

why we do what we do ? In my opinion it got to do with our state of mind .... we do the things that we do because we think what we do will or may bring us some kind of benefits in return physically , emotionally , mentally , spiritually etc . |

We do what we do to tell people what we are thinking of...............so that people would understand us. |

And that stems from wanting approval...
When I look back into my life, there are so many things in so many times because of wanting approval from others... |

I guess so. Its a way of communication in a sense...it could be in words or deed, direct or subtle. It can also be an expression of acceptance or rejection or anything in between, of other people's deed. It can also be a reaction to reach out to others....say when someone is sad you would want to console him. When you are angry you may also want others to know it.
Now, as I delve further into this subject, I find that there can be a host of reasons to why we do the things we do. We may be bound or limited by our knowledge/education, culture/tradition etc. In the end we would usually do what we know.
But why again.? I think ultimately, it is to achieve satisfaction............to have a good feeling towards our own self hence your self esteem.

But sometimes our action is done at the spur of the moment,
without thought or thoughtlessly...or a reflex...cause and effect...
or in a state of unsound mind...it can be good, it can be bad... |

True ....as in my post #14 about doing things on impulse. I have two thoughts about impulsive actions:
1. A defence mechanism in the face of a possible emotional outburst. This can happen when you are in a challenging situation. But then.....such mechanism may also fail in which case you would just withdraw with a feeling of hate perhaps....
2. Indiscipline consious mind. You see the conscious mind should be able to rationalise situations before reacting. Some people count to ten before allowing themselves to react. Like giving the adrenaline a chance to run it's course through the veins! |

Basically, it has to do with understanding human behavior. As everyone responds differently to different situations they generally find their comfort zone under normal. However when faced with achallenging situation, they would tend to move out of their comfort zone. Here you can see whether they tend to be more task or people focus; aggressive or passive; or anything in between but still outside the normal zone. |
