Mancienne: I can do a job on Messi
Chelsea defender Michael Mancienne insists he is ready for the task of marking Lionel Messi in the Champions League semi-final with Barcelona.Blues boss Guus Hiddink is considering playing Mancienne at left-back against Barca in the first leg at Camp Nou next week, with first-choice Ashley Cole missing through suspension.
Mancienne played at left-back in Monday night's reserve team draw against West Brom as Hiddink wanted to try out the England Under-21 international in that role.
Now the player himself says he is ready to face arguably the best player on the planet in the shape of Messi.
"It was a new one on me, I've never really played there before. I would love the challenge of facing Messi, " Mancienne told Chelsea TV.
"The manager came to watch and I was asked to have a go. The manager is keeping his options open.
"They told me a couple of days ago I would have a go at left-back and I did ask Ashley a few questions about it. It felt alright."
Monday night's game also saw the return of Juliano Belletti after injury. The Brazilian scored to put himself in contention for a first-team recall. |

Ivanovic: I can do Messi job
Branislav Ivanovic says he's ready to play at left-back for Chelsea against Barcelona's Lionel Messi next week.
Ivanovic could be handed the job in the Champions League semi with Ashley Cole suspended and told chelseafc.com: "I played there one time at Lokomotiv Moscow, but just one time.
"I know the situation, and I don't know if the coach will decide this, but I am here." |

Chelsea boss Hiddink hands Messi job to Bosingwa
Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink will use Jose Bosingwa as his man-marker against Barcelona star Lionel Messi in their Champions League semi.
Ahead of today抯 trip to West Ham, Hiddink said: 揈veryone knows we don抰 have a natural replacement for the left-back position so we have to improvise.
揝o Bosingwa will start there, although he doesn抰 know that yet.
揑 decided Bosingwa would play the moment Ashley was booked in the quarter-final against Liverpool.
揧ou have to deliver an option.
揥hoever plays against Messi has a tremendously difficult job to do. Messi is one of the most productive players in the world when he抯 performing.
