tp takut gak nak bawa kuar ..kang x pasal H1N1 plak..

Opps lupa..kat komplek sukan balik pulau..esok Ahad. 5/7 ada pertunjukan silat...semua silat2 ada..sila lah menyaksikannya...

Bon Odori Festival is a Japanese Buddhist observance honouring the spirits of ancestors, who return once a year to visit their families. Traditional dance is performed to entertain the spirits of the ancestors. Last year, Bon Odori attracted around 50,000 locals and tourists.

IF you have not experienced the Bon Odori festival before, keep July 18 free as the event will be held at the Esplanade from 5pm to 11pm.

The event, held for the 13th time in Penang, is expected to attract more than 50,000 people.

Bon Odori is a Japanese traditional summer dance celebration where people perform folk dances to show appreciation for family and ancestors as well as to welcome ancestral spirits to earth.

State Tourism Development and Culture Committee chairman Danny Law said the event was jointly organised by the state government and the Japanese Consulate, and supported by the Penang Japanese Association (PJA), Malaysian-Japanese Society (MJS), Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM), Penang Japanese Language Society and Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS).

He said the festival would feature Bon Odori dance performances by the PJA, MJS and Penang Japanese Language Society.

“There will also be a drum performance by the PJS, a 10-minute fireworks display at 10pm and over 80 stalls selling food, souvenirs and providing games,” he said.

The yukata, a type of summer kimono, will be sold at the event for RM200.

Visitors can wear the costume and have their picture taken for a fee of RM10.

The public can also don a yukata to the event.

Coupon booklets for RM20 are available at Shin Taima and Japanese food outlets such as Sushi King, Nippon Yataimura, Kirishima, Ajinoren, and Tsuruya.
