A short video documentary about a 96-year-old's love song is going viral.
Green Shoe Studio in Illinois held a Singer Songwriter contest, asking local musicians to upload their original songs to YouTube and send them a link.
What they didn't expect was an entry in the contents of a large manila envelope sent in the mail from a 96-year-old named Fred Stobaugh. Fred had written a song about the love of his life, his late wife named Lorraine.
"It was so heartwarming. Green Shoes Studio decided to take Fred's lyrics and bring them to life," said Jacob Colgan in a video posted on the studio's website.
Colgan talked more about the charming letter in the video, saying that Fred joked about his inability to sing.
"On the actual envelope itself, it says ' P.S. I don't sing, I would scare people, haha,'" said Colgan.
In the mini documentary on the Green Shoes Studio website, Fred talks about his wife and the inspiration behind his song titled "Oh Sweet Lorraine."
"Well, she was just the prettiest girl I ever saw," said Fred.
One of the sweetest moments in the video is when Fred gets to hear the recorded song for the first time.
