KUALA LUMPUR, 21 SEPTEMBER 2013 – It was not your typical party at the Grand Ballroom of Dewan Wawasan in Menara PGRM, Kuala Lumpur today. In fact, it was an extravagant charity party as more than 1,000 of ZumbaFitness lovers, enthusiasts and participants party together under one roof for the ‘MIRAGE WONDERLAND’ themed charity party - Zumbathon Party for Charity Kuala Lumpur 2013.
The ‘MRRAGE WONDERLAND’ themed Zumbathon Party For Charity KL 2013 was hosted by Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor & Federal Territory (SCASFT) supported by Ministry of Youth & Sports was a fund raising charity event in aid of SCASFT for the purpose of the redevelopment project of their new building which will be named after the Royal Patron of SCASFT, the current Sultan of Selangor as "Bangunan Sultan Idris Shah". The main purpose of the building is to provide a dedicated Centre for the education and rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy.
The splendidly decorated ballroom was a kaleidoscope of colours filled with ZumbaFitness lovers, enthusiasts and participants shows up in vibrantand colourful Zumba apparels and some even come in eye-catchy futuristic dressing and costumes that draw everyone’s attention away.
ZUMBATHON, a Zumba-based charity event, is a term coined by ZumbaFitness Company in U.S.A.. Zumbathon Party for Charity 2013 would bethree and a half hour of exhilarating fun and dance-inspired charity party special featuring one of the world’s renowned Zumba Education Specialist, Maria Teresa Stone, who is also the celebrity Zumba trainer of the world to make the event even fun and exhilarating.
The charity party led by local Zumba Instructors Sunny Cheong, Deno Au and Alex Phang andmany up-and-coming Zumba Instructors across the region from Penang and Sabah. There were also guest instructors came all the way from Singapore and Thailand took part in the charity party this year.
Zumbathon Party for Charity 2013 was an exhilarating dance charity party that astounded and moved everyone away. This charity party proved to be a huge successby not only managed to attract participants from all across Malaysia region but also participants from other countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Taiwan as well as participants from European countries, all for a good cause!
Thesound, the vibe, the adrenalin and a crowd of more than 1,000 people moving in unison with the same pace and movements; turns charity into something that is so fun and entertaining!
“I was amazed by the overwhelming response of the public to the charity party. This charity party proved to be a huge success by not only managed to attract participants from all across the Malaysia region but also participants from other countries such as Singapore, Thailand, Brunei,Vietnam, Taiwan as well as participants from the European countries such as United Kingdom, all for a good cause!” said Dato Dr. Lam Peng Chong, President of SCASFT. “We truly need more like-minded people to continuously contribute for a good cause,” Dato Dr. Lam urged.
“Through all the hard works and efforts done in promoting this charity event, we managed to reach out to more parties, corporate and individuals for their generous supports and donation. I am proud to announce that the remaining of the required funds in order to start the redevelopment programme has been finally put together,” Dato Dr. Lam announced.
“Zumbathon Party for Charity 2013 are made possible by the supports and participation of our amazing partners, sponsors and generous donors. The inaugural Zumbathon Party for Charity was held last year on June 16 at Confucian Private School Kuala Lumpur which turned out to be a huge success with a crowd of more than 700 people took part in the charity party. SCASFT and Hospis Malaysia were the beneficiaries of the charity party.
Dance for charity, it is a great concept of fulfilling social responsibilities while promoting healthy lifestyle. This charity party was meant to all folks of life from children to the senior citizens, regardless of their current fitness level, age, or weight. Dancing is A-B-C-D, anybody can dance. Charity is A-B-C-D, anybody can do!
