Young Liverpool striker Adam Morgan has completed a month-long loan move to Rotherham United.

Brendan Rodgers' is sending the 18-year-old to the League Two side to pick up experience after featuring briefly for the Reds' this season.

Morgan started three of the Merseyside outfit's Europa League games this campaign, against Hearts twice and Anzhi Makhachkala.

"A lot of hard work has taken place to get this young lad to the club," United manager Steve Evans told the club's official website

The striker, who has played for England at Under-17 and Under-19 level, will stay at the Millers until February 9.

Morgan will join up with Evans' squad ahead of their trip to face Aldershot in the third round of the FA Cup.

Joe Cole set for West Ham move

After undergoing a medical, Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is set to complete a move to West Ham on Friday, who have confirmed Yossi Benayoun has returned to his parent club Chelsea.

Cole, 31, has started only nine Premier League games since he signed for Liverpool from Chelsea in the summer of 2010, with the player sent out on loan to Lille last season.

Having begun his career at West Ham, the Englishman appears set to return to Upton Park as the Hammers aim to seal a deal before midday on Friday ahead of Saturday's FA Cup tie with Manchester United.

It is understood that Liverpool would pay Cole a negotiated settlement in order to get his estimated £100,000-a-week salary off the wage bill and West Ham owner David Gold's son Jack seemed to confirm the deal on Thursday when he tweeted: "Joe cole is now a #whu player ones again #hammercominghome."

Benayoun, meanwhile, has returned to Chelsea, having joined West Ham on loan at the start of the season only to see the switch plagued by injuries.

"West Ham United can confirm that the loan of @YossiBenayoun15 has ended and he has returned to @chelseafc," a statement on West Ham's Twitter feed read.

"The club would like to thank Yossi for his efforts during his second spell with the Hammers and wish him the best of luck for his future career."

Benayoun made six appearances under Sam Allardyce during his second spell at Upton Park, having previously been with the club from 2005 to 2007.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted heavily that Daniel Sturridge could be set to play in a central position with his new club, and that Luis Suarez could be asked to perform a different role as a result.

Sturridge was unveiled as a Liverpool player on Wednesday after holding talks with the club throughout December.

Meanwhile, Luis Suarez has enjoyed a successful season to date as the Reds' frontman, with his 15 Premier League goals this season placing him behind only Robin van Persie in the Premier League scoring charts.

However, the Guardian quotes Rodgers as saying he would be prepared to move Suarez out wide: "For the common good of the team."

The former Swansea and Reading boss went on to deny suggestions that the transfer could have an adverse effect on Suarez's form.

Liverpool have made the first move for Schalke star Lewis Holtby but the midfielder favours a move to Tottenham as he prepares to make a decision on his future.

Holtby is expected to make an announcement on his next club in the coming days after publicly declaring his intention not to sign a new deal with Schalke before his contract expires in the summer.

It is understood Holtby is most likely to sign a pre-contract agreement with a view to a free transfer at the end of the season, although Schalke are prepared to sell this month to ensure they recoup a transfer fee for one of their key players.

Raheem Sterling has insisted he is trying to remain focused, after securing his long-term future at Liverpool.

The teenager signed a five-year contract with the Reds in December having been promoted to the first team at the beginning of the season, and has since won his first cap for England.

Sterling claims he is only interested in playing as much as he can for Liverpool, and is ignoring any talk involving him from outside the club.

Liverpool defender Jose Enrique will be out for six weeks with a hamstring tear, manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed.

The Spanish full-back sustained the injury against QPR last Sunday and was forced off on 71 minutes after being unable to continue.

Now, the Reds boss has revealed that Enrique will be out for up to six full weeks, ruling him out of crucial away trips to Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Tom Ince is on the verge of completing his return to Liverpool.

The Merseysiders are close to reaching an agreement with Blackpool over the fee for the 20-year-old winger.

The Championship club have lowered their price tag from £8 million and a deal is expected to be completed at around the £5-6m mark.

Although Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said at his press briefing on Friday that there had been no progress in the club’s pursuit of Ince, all parties are believed to be confident that a deal will soon be completed.

The Anfield Academy graduate, who left Merseyside 18 months ago, has blossomed at Bloomfield Road, scoring 13 goals in the Championship this season.

Liverpool had an offer rejected for Ince last month and Blackpool boss Michael Appleton said earlier this week that the Premier League club have not returned with a second bid.

Nevertheless, Liverpool are confident that Ince will become their second signing of the window after the £12m capture of Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.

Ince moved to Blackpool in the summer of 2011 for £250,000 in compensation on a two-year contract which expires at the end of the season.

Sir Alex Ferguson made a move for the England Under-21 international in October but Manchester United dropped their interest to leave the path clear for Liverpool.

Jaringan 'ajaib' Suarez bawa tuah pada Liverpool

2013/01/07 - 07:56:51 AM

LONDON: Luis Suarez mencetuskan kontroversi bola tangan terbaru apabila dia menjaringkan gol kemenangan Liverpool ketika menewaskan kelab bukan liga, Mansfield 2-1 pada pusingan ketiga kempen Piala FA, lewat malam tadi.

- AP
