KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Naza Kia Sdn Bhd hopes to sell more than 2,000 units of the new Naza Sorento which has been given a face-lift, says its manager/EA to president, business development and operations support, Nicholas Gomez.
He said the company has already sold over 5,500 units of the Naza Sorento model since its launch in 2003.
"The new Naza Sorento model offers special features with a more elegant and modern appearance. I believe the sales will be good because this is the best choice of sport utility vehicle (SUV) in Malaysia right now," he told reporters after its launch here today.
The revised Sorento 2.5-litre CRDi Turbo-Intercooled Diesel model delivers improved performance; suspension modifications provide a better balance of ride and handling; safety is enhanced with state-of-the-art accident avoidance features; contemporary new look; more luxury car options and smarter, trim materials in a higher-quality cabin.
The refreshed Naza Sorento is available for sale now at all Naza Kia dealearships nationwide.
It has an on-the-road price tag of RM138,888 including a five year/125,000 km warranty and two-year/50,000km free service package.

Nasim sasar jual 3,000 kereta Peugeot
SHAH ALAM 15 Feb. - Nasim Sdn. Bhd. (NSB) yang baru dilantik sebagai pengedar dan penjual tunggal kereta Peugeot menyasarkan untuk menjual 3,000 unit kereta itu di pasaran tempatan pada tahun ini.
Pengarah NSB, SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin berkata, sasaran itu dibuat berdasarkan maklum balas positif pengguna sedia ada kereta buatan Perancis itu dan unjuran peningkatan kenderaan penumpang pada tahun ini.
Pada tahun lalu, kira-kira 1,300 unit kereta pelbagai model keluaran terjual.
NSB yang juga anak syarikat Kumpulan Naza mengambil alih pengedaran kereta tersebut di Malaysia pada awal Januari lalu selepas perjanjian Peugeot dengan Cycle & Carriage Bintang Bhd. tamat pada 31 Disember 2007.
''Kita menyasarkan untuk menjual sebanyak 800 buah model Peugeot 407, 500 hingga 600 unit bagi Peugeot 308 dan baki untuk 206 Bestari dan model-model mewah seperti 207 GTI, 207cc dan 308 RCZ,'' katanya pada sidang akhbar selepas majlis perasmian pelancaran Peugeot Blue Box di sini, hari ini.
Majlis itu disempurnakan oleh Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz dan hadir sama Pengarah Jabatan Operasi Antarabangsa Asia Pasifik India Peugeot, Francois Poirier.
Peugeot Blue Box mengendalikan jualan, perkhidmatan dan alat ganti bagi kereta Peugeot.
Nasarudin berkata, Peugeot Blue Box pertama yang terletak di Industrial Park, Glenmarie itu membabitkan pelaburan sebanyak RM2 juta.
Katanya, cawangan Peugeot Blue Box itu akan ditambah di Johor Bahru dan Pulau Pinang selewat-lewatnya pada 2009.
Bagaimanapun, tambah beliau, NSB mahu meluaskan konsep Peugeot Blue Box itu kepada 19 wakil jualannya di seluruh negara.
Pada sidang akhbar itu, Nasarudin berkata, NSB akan melancarkan enam model kereta Peugeot pada tahun ini termasuk Peugeot 407 pada Mei ini dan Peugeot 308 pada separuh kedua 2008.
Beliau berkata, Peugeot 407 yang menampilkan spesifikasi tertinggi dan reka bentuk bergaya dijangka ditawarkan pada harga RM135,000 sebuah dan tempahan dibuka mulai 15 Mac ini.
Mengenai perluasan pasaran Peugeot, Nasarudin berkata, NSB akan memasarkan Peugeot 206 di Thailand pada Mac ini dan Indonesia tahun ini,
Terdahulu ketika berucap, Rafidah berkata, industri automotif negara dijangka terus berkembang tahun ini berikutan ekonomi yang mampan dan peningkatan pendapatan di kalangan pekerja Malaysia.
Menurut beliau, perkembangan positif industri itu juga disokong oleh permintaan pengguna yang mahukan kereta moden dengan ciri-ciri keselamatan dan aksesori tambahan yang kini merupakan aspek penting dalam pemilihan kereta.
Katanya, Malaysia telah mengeluarkan sebanyak 409,136 unit kenderaan antara Januari hingga November tahun lalu termasuk 373,501 unit kenderaan penumpang dan 35,635 unit kenderaan komersiol.
Tambahnya, sepanjang tempoh tersebut, sebanyak 444,932 unit kenderaan dijual termasuk 404,803 unit atau 91 peratus kenderaan penumpang dan 40,129 unit kenderaan komersiol.

Blue Box goes great guns

Things are looking good for Nasim Sdn Bhd, the new Peugeot importer and distributor in the country.
It opened its Blue Box centre in Glenmarie, Shah Alam last week, and since then, there has been quite a bit that has been happening. Besides offering the likes of the new 308 and 207CC as part of its new model line-up, the service part of things has been going great guns.
As of Wednesday, the centre had received more than 60 service bookings, with 36 cars serviced since the opening.
To celebrate the inauguration, the first five Peugeot owners to utilise the service facilities received a gift of appreciation. Joseph Absolom Fernandez, Norizan Ahmad, Dr Abdul Majid Abdullah, Dr Daljit Singh and Mior Aljifin Bin Ghazali each received a 1:18 scale model of a Peugeot 407 Silhouette and other Peugeot merchandise from Derick Tan, marketing manager of NSB and William Beven, Blue Box's sales manager.
Actually, the first 100 service customers will be given mystery gifts, so there's at least 40 more of you Pug owners out there who stand to get something out of servicing your ride at the Blue Box.
On the new car front, those who are interested in the new 407 2.0 can now place a booking for the vehicle; the indicative price of the car is RM135,000. Bookings can be made at any Nasim or Naza Corporation branches and authorised Peugeot dealers throughout the country.
But back to the Blue Box service brigade. Customers looking to service their cars at the Blue Box or having specific requirements for their Peugeot cars attended to can call the Peugeot Careline at 03-2617 7777 for more info.

Naza World Introduces the Nissan GT-R

The Nissan Skyline GT-R, a 3.8 litre monster of a sports car, is now available in Malaysia, courtesy of Naza World, the leading importer of exotic cars. At a preview organized for the media a couple of days ago, Naza World proudly displayed one such unit at the Tropicana Golf and Country Club in Petaling Jaya.
I would have given almost anything to have a go at it, but sad to say, the car was so precious that if you so much as walked near the car, someone would be peering over your shoulder to see that you didn抰 accidentally scratch it or something.
Well, I must say that it is a beauty of a car, looking really masculine, and mean to boot. It is a two plus two, with a tiny boot at the back, maybe enough to carry a medium sized suitcase and an overnight bag, but that抯 about it. Anyway, the Nissan GT-R isn抰 about boot space, and neither is it about seating capacity.
It is all about performance and handling, about driving pleasure and getting the most out of life, that is, if you don抰 lose it by having an argument with a wall or something like that, which is what will probably happen if an untrained driver leaves his brains at home and goes out with the GT-R. Somewhere else on this site, you can catch a glimpse of one that lost an argument with a solid and immovable object, thanks to one of our readers who posted it for all to see.
With a 3.8 litre V6, variable valve timing, and twin turbochargers, the GT-R is all muscle where it matters. It translates into 480PS at 6,400 RPM, and enormous torque of 588Nm at between 3,200 and 5,200 RPM. With full-time 4WD, acceleration from zero to 100 km/h is done is 3.5 seconds, and top speed is rated at 310 km/h. The engines are all built by hand, and the aluminium pistons are size-matched to each cylinder bore. The lubrication system is a high-performance pressurized system that ensures consistent oil pressure at all times. (For the uninitiated, a normal car has a pump that pumps oil to the top of the cylinder head, and gravity brings it down to the sump again).
A six-speed dual clutch gearbox with three gear select modes, depending on driver requirement, is standard. Traction to the rear wheels can vary from zero to one hundred percent, while drive to the front wheels varies from zero to fifty percent, all depending on the yaw angle of the car. For example, during harsh acceleration, weight is transferred to the rear end, and this makes the system put more power to the rear wheels. Theoretically, the GT-R becomes a 4WD car that behaves like a RWD. This feature is also a part of the electronic traction control system. Having said earlier that the GT-R can be a lethal weapon in the wrong hands, it is also idiot-proofed to some extent, so much so that even a lousy driver can still drive well in it. Of course, in the same vein, an excellent driver would look like a F1 driver in the GT-R.
The brakes are humongous Brembos for the front and rear, and fit snugly within the 20 杋nch wheels. Stopping is of no issue.

NAZA lancarkan Naza Citra II Rondo di Malaysia
Naza Kia Sdn Bhd has launched the new Naza Citra II Rondo in Malaysia. The Naza Citra II Rondo is essentially the Kia Rondo which is the replacement model for Carens that the Naza Citra is based on. The Citra will continue to be sold as a budget 7-seater SUV, and the new Naza Citra II Rondo will be positioned between the Citra and the Ria, bringing Naza Kia’s 7-seater offerings up to 3 models.
According to Naza Kia, the new Naza Citra II Rondo is built on the D-segment new Kia Optima platform and also shares the Optima’s sweet new GEMA-based 2.0 liter DOHC CVVT engine producing 145 horsepower and 189Nm of torque, mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission with sequential manual shifting. The GEMA engine is a joint project between DaimlerChrysler, Hyundai and Mitsubishi. The 4B11 in the Mitsubishi Lancer is also based on the GEMA family.
Like the Optima, the Citra II Rondo rides on MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup with coil springs at the rear. It also has anti-roll bars as standard for both the front and rear axles. It scored 5 stars on the NHTSA frontal crash ratings.
Two equipment levels are available - the Naza Citra II Rondo EX and the Naza Citra II Rondo EXS. The Naza Citra II Rondo EX features foglamps, six-jet windscreen washers, a trip computer, a 6 speaker sound system with a CD player, ABS brakes, dual SRS airbags, a manual climate control system, body-colored door handles, body-colored side moldings and black front grille crossbars packaged with 15-inch alloy wheels wrapped with Goodyear Eagle NCT5 tyres. The Naza Citra II Rondo EXS carries over the features from the EX but adds an automatic climate control system, steering wheel audio, a roof rack and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The Citra II Rondo’s front row features 1,043mm of headroom and 1,042mm of legroom while the second row (60:40 multifold split bench) offers 1,015mm of headroom and 975mm of legroom. The third row (50:50 split) is naturally less at 887mm of headroom and 800mm of legroom but Naza Kia says this is enough for an average-sized adult. It’s best to head to showrooms and try it for yourself.
